The role will initially focus on GE HealthCare entities within the DACH region (Germany, Austria and Switzerland) but may cover other countries where required. The role has no direct reports.
Working within GE Healthcare’s Controllership team, this role would partner closely with Statutory and Record-to-Report Accounting CoE’s, leading the effort to meet the requests of the tax authorities. The role would also work closely with the Tax organization and Business Controllers to understand the requests and obtain the necessary documents and explanations.
The role requires a sound knowledge of accounting and an understanding of reporting systems. Experience of working on accounting data specifically for tax related areas is also required.Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
1. Ensure that financial data, accounting analysis, reconciliation to stats and other documents to be provided to the tax authorities, have been properly reviewed & validated at an appropriate level and that all obligations are submitted by the due dates.
2. Work closely with Tax, Controllership, Accounting CoE’s and business teams to understand the data requests and to drive efficient & effective tax audit delivery. Provide Controllership and Tax stakeholder updates.
3. Ensure data readiness for tax audits and establish the right SOP’s and archiving mechanisms. Monitor archiving on upstream processes owned by Accounting CoE’s.
4. Leverage IT and establish process solutions to maximize efficiencies and reduce the cost of the data gathering process.
5. Coordinate tax audit data requests in line with best practice: ensuring that each data stakeholder knows their actions and deadlines, maintaining a tracker of open items, sending reminders as required, organising regular update calls as required.
6. Support the Manager Tax Audit Date CoE to drive transformation and implement best in class, harmonized processes, including the necessary systems and organization to ensure timely and sustainable tax audit request delivery. Look for best practices and share upwards.
Qualifications/Requirements
CA, CPA or equivalent certification (or a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting/finance) with a minimum of 5 years accounting experience.
3+ years of experience with Statutory filings. Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in IFRS and USGAAP. Knowledge of tax filings is preferred, but not required.
Some level of tax awareness would be helpful, although this is not a tax technical role. Experience of working on accounting data for statutory filings is required.
Detail-oriented, and able to prioritize multiple projects, tasks, and strict deadlines.
Languages: Written and verbal fluency in English. German language skills would be preferred.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team; strong interpersonal skills; ability to build good partnership with all stakeholders and cross-functional teams within the organization.
Excellent communication skills: experience working across multiple levels and functions; ability to develop professional relationships with stakeholders and cross-functional teams.

Solid systems skills: strong Excel skills in data compilation and aggregation (i.e., pivot tables, lookup functions, macros, etc). Experience with financial systems/applications (i.e. Oracle, SAP etc) is a plus.
Capable of taking ownership and accountability for tasks and projects from start to finish. Proactive and problem-solver attitude. Curious.
Experience working in a matrixed environment.
A knowledge of business processes would be an advantage.
