As a Tax Assistant III, you’ll be a trusted support partner in a collaborative tax team.  You’ll take ownership of specific tasks and processes and collaborate with professionals across departments and external agencies to resolve issues.   This role offers meaningful opportunities to apply your expertise, attention to detail, communication skills and problem-solving mindset.  You’ll be empowered to work independently, demonstrate initiative and support professionals across the department.

Responsibilities/Expectations:

  • Processes and pays tax bills; interacts with taxing jurisdictions to resolve tax statement and billing questions

  • Receives, reviews, and routes incoming tax correspondence, determining appropriate action, escalation, or resolution

  • Processes and monitors system data; serves as a subject matter expert for select internal systems

  • Supports the tax team across routine and non-routine activities, building familiarity with evolving processes

  • Resolves issues independently and makes informed decisions with limited oversight

  • Contributes to projects and process improvements that enhance team efficiency and effectiveness

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Education/Years of Experience:

  • Required: High school diploma/GED and four (4) years of experience in similar business support area
  • Preferred: Associate degree in business, computer information systems or legal studies related field or six (6) years of experience in related in similar business support area

Other Requirements:

  • Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priority  
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience with Vizio
  • Communicates effectively in both written and verbal formats while managing multiple priorities with internal and external customers
  • Applies strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all aspects of work
  • Learns quickly and adapts to new systems, processes and team expectations
