The Tax Analyst - Domestic will support the accurate and timely remittance of tax payments, preparation of federal and state tax forms, and reporting for various non-income taxes. This position will work closely with the Tax Manager.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Prepare, review and file timely consolidated federal and multi-state corporate income tax returns
- Manage state and local tax obligations, including franchise taxes and gross receitps taxes
- Calculate quarterly estimated tax payments and annual extension requests
- Manage nexus analysis to determine filing requirements as the company expands into new jurisdictions
- Maintain tax fixed asset detail and depreciation schedules
- Determine and prepare monthly, quarterly, bi-annual and annual sales and use tax returns
- Assist in the preparation and reporting of bi-annual and annual tax accounting provisions under IAS12
- Reconcile tax accounts and general ledger balances to ensure data integrity
- Analyze book-to-tax adjustments and maintain deferred tax schedules
- Perform technical research on federal and state tax laws to support return positions or planning initiatives
- Monitor legislative updates, such as tax reforms, and assess their impact on company operations
- Apply a forward-thinking approach to continuous process improvement and increased efficiency
- Respond to inquiries and notices from tax authorities such as the IRS and state agencies
- Gather documentation and prepare workpapers for internal and external auditors during examinations
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 2+ years of tax experience in a public accounting or large corporate environment
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including proactive communication
- Maintain effective cross-functional relationships
- Proficient with Microsoft products, specifically Excel
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and tax research capabilities
- CPA preferred but not required
- CORPTax, SAP, Oracle experience a strong plus
