Who You Are:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Taxation, or a related field
CPA preferred
13+ years of progressive corporate tax, public accounting, or tax consulting experience
Experience serving as a Tax Director, Senior Manager, or tax function leader
Strong technical knowledge of:
ASC 740 (income tax accounting)
Federal, state, and local income tax compliance
M&A tax implications
Tax controls and governance
Experience supporting private equity-backed companies, carve-outs, or complex corporate transactions preferred
Comfortable leading client-facing engagements and serving as a trusted advisor to CFOs, Controllers, and executive leadership
Exposure to indirect tax (Sales & Use, VAT or tax technology platforms)
Exceptional project management, communication, and leadership skills
Ability to thrive in fast-paced, changing environments
Willingness to travel based on client needs
What You’ll Do:
Use tax technical knowledge to advise clients on complex tax implications, liabilities, and strategies
Remain up to date on tax issues, legislative changes, and best practices
Provide guidance and issue resolution support to teams across multiple concurrent client engagements
Provide Interim Tax Leadership
Serve as a Tax Leader for clients experiencing organizational change or leadership transitions
Lead day-to-day tax operations while ensuring business continuity during critical periods
Act as the primary tax advisor to executive leadership, finance teams, external auditors, and outside tax service providers
Drive Tax Operations & Compliance
Oversee federal, state, and local income tax compliance workflows and filing calendars
Manage relationships with external preparers and review tax provisions under ASC 740
Identify and remediate tax risks; strengthen internal controls and governance frameworks
Lead Tax Transformation Initiatives
Assess and redesign tax operating models, processes, and organizational structures
Evaluate and implement tax technology solutions to improve accuracy, efficiency, and reporting
Partner with finance and IT teams to integrate tax requirements into broader ERP and data initiatives
Support Tax-Driven Transactions
Advise on tax implications of M&A, carve-outs, restructurings, and other strategic transactions
Lead tax due diligence and coordinate with deal teams, legal counsel, and outside advisors
Manage post-close integration of tax functions, reporting, and compliance obligations
