Job Description

Expeditors is seeking a Tax Accountant to join its US Tax Team. This position will prepare U.S. tax filings, including but not limited to Federal and state income tax filings, personal property tax filings, indirect tax filings, income tax provisions, defend filing positions in audit proceedings, independently assist in income tax research & analysis as needed, and other special projects that may arise. This position will report directly to corporate headquarters but can potentially work from any WA Expeditors office.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field required. Advanced degree or Certification as a CPA preferred.

• Minimum two years of relevant experience in Public Accounting and/or industry

• Technically proficient and have strong accounting, analytical, financial modeling, and research skills

• Ability to understand and apply tax laws and changes

• Strong project management skills

• Excellent organization skills and detailed-oriented

• Excellent written and oral English communication skills 

• Motivated self-starter and work with urgency

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Must have excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team environment with varied levels of professionals and build rapport with people inside and outside of the organization.

• Proficient in MS Office applications (specifically Excel), electronic tax compliance systems (CorpTax is a plus), and financial query tools (Hyperion Financial Management is a plus).

Additional Information

Expected base salary: $66,000– $78,500
