The Opportunity
We are seeking a motivated and ambitious individual to join our Corporate Finance and Tax team. This individual will be responsible for all transactional tax compliance, audits, and tax technology management for the company’s operations. They will play a key role in the development of the overall structure and on-going processes of the indirect tax function of the company.
Location
This role is a hybrid position based out of our office in Morgantown, WV and will be expected work onsite in the office three days per week.
What You Will Be Doing
- Prepare and file all annual reports, business licenses, OH CAT, sales and use, property, and severance tax returns, including payments.
- Prepare account reconciliations, analyze transactional tax accruals, and submit adjusting journal entries.
- Prepare data for all state & local tax audits as requested by taxing authorities.
- Assist with integration of any merger and acquisition activities
- Manage and maintain process documentation related to transactional tax
- Manage internal and external audit requests.
- Manage 3rd party service provider and tax consulting relationships.
- Maintain tax technology interfaces with business systems configurations
- Identify opportunities for improvement and application of technology best practices.
Your Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2+ years of progressive experience in corporate tax or public accounting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data analytics tools. Specific experience with Quorum and Blackline is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with data analytics or robotic process automation (RPA) platforms is a significant plus.
- A high level of integrity and the ability to manage sensitive, confidential financial data.
- Strong written and verbal skills with the ability to translate complex tax concepts for non-tax business partners.
- Proven success in prioritizing multiple high-stakes projects under tight regulatory deadlines.
- A team-oriented mindset with the desire to take on new responsibilities as the department grows.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to perform light work – exerting up to 15 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
- See, hear, talk and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity and visual acuity; kneel, sit, stand, walk, crouch, stoop, reach, pull, push and other similar, repetitive tasks requiring physical activity.
- Able to operate standard office/computer equipment.
