Your Responsibilities:
- Prepare federal, state, and local filings, with a primary focus on indirect taxes and information reporting
- Assist Rover’s tax information reporting process in US federal, state and international jurisdictions
- Business process internal controls for indirect tax
- Engage with tax authorities on questions and discrepancies
- Assist in the resolution of customer service questions related to indirect tax and informational reporting
- Assist in the maintenance and reconciliation of indirect tax GL accounts
- Contribute to monthly financial statement close processes and accruals
- Work with the legal team with sensitive information verification
- Other tax projects, as needed
Your Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, advanced tax degree, or equivalent experience required
- 1-3 years of experience in public accounting and / or a corporate tax department required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel
- Basic knowledge of indirect tax
- Strong attention to detail
- Commitment to excellent customer service
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Your Bonus Skills:
- Licensed CPA
- Experience with NetSuite, Avalara, and internally developed transactional databases
- Experience in a large corporate tax environment
- Experience with indirect tax
- Experience in SQL

Compensation:
- In the greater Seattle area the first year salary range is $77,001-$99,235. Additionally, Rover offers a long-term incentive plan with a company performance-based cash payout and benefits to full-time employees.
- The cash compensation offered for this role will be dependent on the candidate's experience, qualifications, skills, and abilities as demonstrated in the interview and hiring process.
