The Associate is responsible for working within the Firm’s Transactions, Strategy and Operations (“TSO”) practice providing financial due diligence, primarily focusing on buy-side and sell-side assistance to private equity funds, family offices, mezzanine funds, and strategic buyers. This position would be a part of the Transaction Advisory Services group within TSO.

The Associate assists with the execution of projects across a variety of different industry sectors and engagements, including pre-deal and occasionally post-deal work. For pre-deal projects, the Associate will be involved in managing data flow, meeting with target management, managing an offshore team, preparing analyses, and communicating due diligence findings to clients. The Associate will work closely with the post-deal team to seamlessly transition from pre-deal to post-deal services (e.g., Net Working Capital and Opening Balance Sheet work.)

Responsibilities

  • Assist in buy-side and sell-side due diligence engagements for private equity, family offices, mezzanine funds, and strategic buyers
  • Input and analyze large volumes of data to prepare an Excel data book, with an emphasis on the quality of earnings, debt and debt-like, and net working capital analysis
  • Aptitude to understand and evaluate financial and operational trends of target companies, in addition to challenging target assumptions
  • Assist in preparation of agenda and during due diligence meetings with target management
  • Create and design tailored reports specific to key issues, such as normalized earnings, financial reporting, networking capital trends, and indebtedness considerations
  • Ability to communicate due diligence findings confidently in a clear, concise and articulate manner both verbally and in written reports
  • Collaborate and work within teams to ensure timely and efficient product delivery
  • Develop and strengthen productive working relationships with client personnel

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • 0-2 years in total of public accounting and/or Transaction Advisory experience
  • Basic knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting issues with the ability to effectively communicate
  • Excellent analytical and Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
  • Ability to thrive and adapt in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Effective time management skills
  • Pursuit of CPA or CFA certification is a plus
  • Ability to travel to client or target locations as required
