Purpose  

Talent Management Specialist assists in the implementation of programs that aim to attract, measure, develop and manage an organization’s talent pool.  This position is responsible for writing, designing, developing, and executing learning solutions for Eastern Shipbuilding.

Functions

  • Conduct thorough needs assessments and serve as a consultant to other departments to identify challenges that could be resolved with a learning solution.
  • Design and develop e-learning and in-person training, including writing content and developing interactive courses and supporting materials.
  • Work with internal subject matter experts to ensure programs meet learner needs and desired outcomes.
  • Implement training programs, including project management, communications, preparing instructors, and creating evaluations.
  • Support in-person events through facilitating workshops, small group activities, or other programs where subject matter expertise aligns with program content, as requested.
  • Assist with managing the Learning Management System (LMS), including supporting users, loading, and maintaining content and reporting.
  • Manage talent review process (performance management) and succession planning
  • Create individual development plans (IDPs) and leadership coaching
  • Ability to build and maintain strong collaborative relationships
  • Influences stakeholders of all levels
  • Experience driving change within an organization

NON-ESSENTIAL

  • Broad experience and knowledge across HR disciplines
  • Previous experience in managing complex, cross-functional programs, and initiatives

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities

Reporting Relationship

  • This position will be reported to the Human Resources Manager

Requirements/Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience in a similar role
  • Highschool diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years of work experience in instructional design, learning and development, or other directly relevant field required
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply adult learning theories and instructional design models.
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills

DESIRED

  • Working knowledge and experience developing content in Articulate Storyline preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in organizational development,
    Organizational Behavior, Organizational Leadership, Human Resources or Business Administration strongly preferred                                    
  • Experience managing talent programs for shipyard crafts: 3 years (Preferred)
  • Certified MBTI Practitioner (Preferred)

Working Conditions

This position is considered OFFICE WORK which is characterized as follows. 

  • Almost exclusively indoors during the day and occasionally at night
  • Occasional exposure to airborne dust in the workplace
  • Work surface is stable (flat)
