The Talent Development Specialist plays a vital role in fostering a culture of learning, growth, and continuous improvement across the organization. This position is responsible for designing, delivering, facilitating, and continuously enhancing enterprise-wide learning and development initiatives that support employee success, operational excellence, compliance, and organizational performance. Partnering closely with leaders, subject matter experts, and business units, the Talent Development Specialist identifies training needs and develops engaging, learner-centered solutions that equip employees with the knowledge, skills, and resources needed to perform confidently and consistently in their roles. Serving as a champion for culture, employee development, and lifelong learning, this role helps strengthen organizational capability, supports UICCU's strategic objectives, and enhances both the employee and member experience. Through innovative training programs, collaborative partnerships, and a commitment to excellence, the Specialist contributes to fulfilling the mission of the credit union while building meaningful relationships with employees, members, business partners, and vendors.   • Provide exceptional service to both internal and external members and demonstrate a strong commitment to the organization's Do More Good culture by fostering a positive work environment and promoting our core values in all interactions.
  • Design, develop, deliver, and continuously improve enterprise-wide learning and development programs that support employee growth, operational excellence, compliance requirements, and organizational objectives.
  • Facilitate engaging instructor-led, virtual, and blended learning experiences that equip employees with the knowledge, skills, and behaviors needed to succeed in their roles and deliver exceptional service.
  • Partner with leaders, subject matter experts, and business units to identify learning needs, assess skill gaps, and develop targeted training solutions that align with organizational priorities and strategic goals.
  • Serve as a learning ambassador and role model by fostering a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, accountability, professionalism, and lifelong learning throughout the organization.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive training plans, learning pathways, onboarding programs, and developmental resources to support employees at all stages of their career journey
  • Measure and evaluate training effectiveness through assessments, learner feedback, performance metrics, observations, and reporting to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and ensure desired learning outcomes are achieved.
  • Coordinate and facilitate "train-the-trainer" programs to build organizational training capacity and ensure consistency in learning delivery across departments and locations.
  • Collaborate with department leaders and subject matter experts to ensure training programs effectively support employee onboarding, development, engagement, performance, and organizational change initiatives.
  • Develop, maintain, and regularly update training materials, job aids, learning resources, standard operating procedures, and departmental documentation to ensure accuracy, consistency, compliance, and relevance.
  • Support enterprise-wide initiatives by providing learning and change-management expertise that helps employees successfully adopt new processes, technologies, products, services, and organizational practices.
  • Monitor industry trends, adult learning best practices, and emerging training technologies to recommend innovative learning solutions that enhance employee development and organizational effectiveness.
  • Identify and implement process improvements, learning innovations, and operational efficiencies that strengthen organizational capability, improve employee performance, reduce risk, and support the credit union's strategic objectives.
  • Own internal and external member problems, issues and complaints and ensure the appropriate follow up to achieve proper resolution

Qualifications

Experience 
Three years to five years of similar or related experience.
 
Education:
A high school education or GED.

Interpersonal Skills:
Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is of a personal or sensitive nature. Motivating, influencing, and/or training others is key at this level. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others. 

Other Skills:


  • Must possess excellent communication skills. 
  • Must be able to operate related computer software and business equipment including 10-key, telephone, slide, film, overhead projector, and other related training aids.
  • Professionalism in appearance, dress, and attitude is a must
