Job Description

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Talent Acquisition, the Talent Acquisition Specialist will support the full-cycle recruitment process by attracting, assessing, and hiring top talent across the ParaMed business. As an integral member of the Talent Acquisition team, the Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for partnering with designated ParaMed districts and leaders to identify and leverage a variety of recruitment channels and sourcing strategies to build strong talent pipelines.

This position will be based out of Nova Scotia, Halifax. Extendicare offers a hybrid working environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Upload, monitor, and track postings within the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) 

  • Identify strategic sourcing opportunities and participate in community events 

  • Review and assess applications 

  • Conduct pre-screening interviews 

  • Schedule interviews with Hiring Leaders and participate in interviews as required

  • Communicate with applicants throughout the recruitment process 

  • Review reports and analyze data to meet targets 

  • Complete other duties as assigned.

What we’re looking for:

  • Post-secondary education preferably in Human Resources 

  • Minimum 3 years experience in high-volume recruitment required 

  • Working knowledge of recruitment and selection and ATS Workday 

  • Experience in proactive candidate sourcing 

  • Experience in healthcare recruitment is an asset 

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize successfully in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment 

  • Superior customer service skills and communication skills
