The Role
Responsible for leading full-cycle recruitment, emphasizing technical and engineering roles, managing the ATS, and enhancing sourcing strategies.
Summary Generated by Built In

At NewOrbit Space, our mission is to engineer the lowest orbiting satellites on Earth to rapidly advance global connectivity and insight.

We are currently building satellites that can operate at an altitude of just 200 km - one-third that of conventional satellites. Thanks to our propulsion system AURA, we can compensate for the atmospheric drag at ultra-low altitudes.

Please note that as we prepare for our maiden satellite mission, we are in a critical growth phase. That pace means that our roles will often require stretches of work beyond standard office hours.

Your Role

As our Talent Acquisition Specialist, you will be responsible for leading and executing end-to-end recruitment processes with a strong focus on technical and engineering roles, particularly in hardware engineering. You’ll partner closely with our engineering and leadership teams to identify, attract, and hire exceptional talent that will drive our mission forward. You’ll own our Applicant Tracking System (ATS), manage sourcing strategies, and continuously refine our recruitment practices to ensure we are securing the best talent in the industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own and manage our Applicant Tracking System (ATS), ensuring accurate data, timely updates, and a seamless candidate experience.

  • Design and implement innovative sourcing and headhunting strategies, leveraging AI-driven recruitment tools and traditional methods, to identify top-tier technical candidates.

  • Partner with engineering and leadership teams to deeply understand hiring needs, role requirements, and timelines.

  • Proactively source, screen, interview, and evaluate candidates for technical competence, cultural fit, and alignment with organizational goals.

  • Manage the full recruitment lifecycle—from initial outreach and interviews through to offer management and onboarding.

  • Conduct talent mapping and develop strong pipelines for critical engineering roles, with a focus on hardware engineering.

  • Actively engage passive candidates through targeted outreach, networking, and industry events.

  • Continuously analyze and improve recruitment processes to enhance efficiency, candidate quality, and overall hiring outcomes.

Fundamental Requirements
  • Proven experience in full-cycle recruitment, with a strong track record of successfully hiring for technical roles (preferably hardware engineering).

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.

  • Expertise in sourcing strategies, headhunting, and use of advanced recruitment technologies and tools (AI-enabled tools a plus).

  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build trusted relationships across engineering and leadership teams.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, innovative engineering environment.

Additional (Preferred) Requirements
  • Recruitment experience in the space or aerospace industry, with established networks in the sector.

  • Familiarity with scaling recruitment processes within startup or high-growth environments.

  • STEM background or technical understanding to better engage with engineering candidates.
