The Position

 

The Talent Acquisition Specialist supports the organization’s talent acquisition efforts by managing recruiting activities from job posting through offer and pre-employment coordination. This role partners with hiring managers to understand staffing needs, identify qualified candidates, coordinate an efficient interview process, and deliver a positive candidate experience.

The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for independently managing routine searches while partnering with People & Culture leadership on more complex, specialized, or senior-level positions. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, responsive, and able to manage multiple searches and priorities simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle recruiting for assigned positions, from job posting through pre-employment coordination.
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand position requirements, qualifications, and hiring needs.
  • Draft and post job advertisements across appropriate recruiting channels.
  • Source and identify qualified candidates using job boards, professional networks, referrals, and other recruiting resources.
  • Review applications and resumes and conduct initial candidate screenings.
  • Present qualified candidates to hiring managers and provide guidance throughout the selection process.
  • Coordinate interviews and maintain timely communication with candidates and hiring teams.
  • Conduct phone and video screening interviews and assess candidates against established position requirements.
  • Maintain candidate pipelines and proactively follow up on outstanding hiring activities.
  • Support recruiting for multiple departments and positions simultaneously.
  • Prepare offer information and coordinate the offer process in partnership with People & Culture leadership.
  • Initiate and track pre-employment requirements, including background checks and other required documentation.
  • Ensure candidates receive timely, professional communication throughout the recruitment process.
  • Maintain accurate and complete candidate and recruiting information within the applicant tracking system.
  • Assist hiring managers with effective use of recruiting systems, tools, and processes.
  • Support career fairs, recruiting events, internship programs, employee referral initiatives, and other talent acquisition activities.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with colleges, community organizations, professional associations, and other potential talent sources.
  • Track recruiting activity and assist with reporting on time-to-fill, candidate pipelines, hiring activity, and other recruiting metrics.
  • Ensure recruiting practices are consistent, equitable, and compliant with applicable employment laws and organizational policies.

Participate in recruiting process improvements and other People & Culture initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of recruiting, talent acquisition, human resources, or related experience.
  • Experience supporting or managing multiple job searches simultaneously.
  • Working knowledge of recruiting practices and the candidate selection process.
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems and online recruiting platforms.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with candidates and hiring managers.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated initiative, responsiveness, and follow-through.
  • Ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard business applications.
