The Role:
Recruiting and retaining great people is critical to Morningstar's future. As a Talent Acquisition Specialist, you'll play a key role in driving that impact, with a specific focus on hiring technology talent across North America.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys full-cycle recruiting and is interested in deepening their expertise in technical hiring across engineering, data, and product domains. You'll partner closely with hiring managers to identify, attract, and hire high-caliber talent into a range of technical roles that support Morningstar's evolving technology landscape.
We're looking for a contractor (6 months) to help us uncover and hire exceptional talent into software engineering, data, infrastructure, and product-focused roles across the business.
Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid- 4 days onsite)
Responsibilities
- Own full-cycle recruiting for technology roles across North America, from intake through offer stage
- Partner with hiring managers to define role requirements, align on hiring strategy, and calibrate on candidate profiles
- Proactively source and engage technical talent across a range of skill sets (e.g., engineering, data, cloud, and product)
- Review applications and assess candidates for both technical alignment and cultural fit
- Manage multiple open requisitions simultaneously while maintaining a high bar for candidate quality and experience
- Maintain accurate candidate data in our applicant tracking system (Workday)
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve recruiting processes and enhance the candidate and hiring manager experience
- Provide market insights on talent availability, competitive landscape, and compensation trends for technical roles
Qualifications
- 5+ years of recruiting experience in a professional corporate environment, with a strong focus on technical recruiting
- Demonstrated success hiring for a variety of technology roles, such as software engineers (frontend, backend, full-stack), data engineers, data scientists, cloud/infrastructure engineers, and technical product managers
- Proven ability to source and engage passive technical talent using a variety of tools and strategies
- Strong understanding of technical skill sets, hiring trends, and competitive talent landscapes
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills
- High attention to detail with a focus on process improvement and operational excellence
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Passion for Morningstar's mission and values
- Willingness to work on 6-month contract basis
Additional Information:
Compensation: $50/hour - $65/hour
