We are seeking a collaborative, customer-focused Talent Acquisition & Onboarding Specialist to help attract, hire, and welcome the talented faculty and staff who advance our mission. This role is ideal for an HR professional who enjoys building relationships, creating exceptional candidate experiences, leveraging technology and data, and designing onboarding experiences that foster engagement, belonging, and long-term success. As a member of the Human Resources team, you will own the recruitment and onboarding processes for faculty and staff positions, serving as a trusted partner to hiring leaders while ensuring a seamless, compliant experience for candidates and new employees alike.
What You'll DoTalent Acquisition & RecruitmentManage the full talent acquisition lifecycle for faculty and staff positions.
Proactively source, screen, and develop talent pipelines using a variety of recruiting tools and technologies.
Partner with hiring leaders to create compelling job postings and recruitment strategies that attract top talent.
Determine effective sourcing channels, advertising strategies, and recruitment timelines based on hiring needs and recruiting metrics.
Develop and implement innovative sourcing and advertising programs to increase visibility among qualified candidates.
Stay informed of emerging recruitment trends, technologies, and best practices.
Serve as a trusted advisor to hiring managers and search committees throughout the recruitment process.
Train and guide hiring leaders on recruitment best practices, interviewing techniques, and compliance requirements.
Ensure recruitment activities align with federal and state employment laws, university policies, and hiring procedures.
Facilitate a positive, equitable, and consistent candidate experience throughout the selection process.
Lead and enhance the new employee experience from offer acceptance through onboarding and orientation.
Coordinate pre-employment activities, including offer generation, background screenings, employment eligibility verification, and new hire paperwork.
Plan, facilitate, and continuously improve new employee orientation programs.
Develop onboarding frameworks, tools, resources, and communications that support successful employee integration.
Partner with campus stakeholders to ensure new employees feel welcomed, informed, and connected from day one.
Support employee acclimation initiatives, including the Ambassador Program and other engagement efforts.
Maintain accurate data in the applicant tracking system and ensure candidates move through the hiring process in a timely manner.
Initiate and coordinate background screening and drug testing processes as appropriate.
Review screening results and escalate discrepancies in accordance with established procedures.
Ensure compliance with employment eligibility verification requirements and onboarding regulations.
Identify opportunities to improve recruitment, onboarding, and related processes, systems, and workflows.
Generate reports, analyze hiring and onboarding data, and monitor key talent acquisition metrics.
Utilize data to identify trends, evaluate recruitment effectiveness, and recommend improvements.
Provide regular updates and reporting to Human Resources leadership and hiring stakeholders.
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
Minimum of two years of recruiting, talent acquisition, or human resources experience.
Working knowledge of employment laws and human resources principles and practices.
Experience using applicant tracking systems (ADP Recruiting Management preferred).
Experience with employment eligibility verification systems, such as Miratech I-9 or equivalent.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, LinkedIn, and related recruiting technologies.

Compensation & Benefits
- Salary Range: $55,000-$65,000 annually
- Actual compensation will be commensurate with education, experience, skills, internal equity, and market considerations.

Skills Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field
- Two years of recruiting or human resource experience
- Knowledge of recruiting management system (ADP preferred)
- Experience with Miratech I-9 or equivalent employment eligibility verification system
- Knowledge of state and federal labor laws and regulations
- Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
