The Director of Talent Acquisition is a strategic leader responsible for designing, building, and leading a high-performing talent acquisition function to support the rapid growth of an organization providing services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and behavioral health needs. Leveraging expertise in recruitment strategies, employment branding, and talent technology, including Workday ATS. This role will develop scalable processes and infrastructure to attract, engage, and hire top talent across all service lines and locations.

The Director will oversee the full recruitment lifecycle, build, and manage a recruitment team, and ensure alignment with organizational goals while fostering a culture of equity, inclusion, and innovation.


Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive talent acquisition strategy aligned with the organization’s mission, vision, and growth objectives.
  • Build and scale recruitment processes, policies, and metrics to support rapid expansion across multiple states and service lines.
  • Partner with executive leadership to forecast hiring needs and align recruitment efforts with business priorities.
  • Establish and maintain an employment brand that positions the organization as an employer of choice in the IDD and behavioral health industries.

Team Development and Management

  • Build, mentor, and lead a team of talent acquisition professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and high performance.
  • Provide coaching and development opportunities for team members to enhance their recruitment expertise and professional growth.
  • Set performance goals and KPIs for the recruitment team, monitoring progress and driving continuous improvement.

Recruitment Operations

  • Leverage the Workday ATS to develop efficient workflows, automate processes, and ensure a seamless candidate experience.
  • Oversee sourcing strategies, ensuring proactive talent pipeline development through innovative approaches, including social media, job boards, networking, and partnerships with educational institutions.
  • Monitor and report on recruitment metrics, including time-to-fill, cost-per-hire, and quality of hire, identifying areas for optimization.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.

Collaboration and Partnership

  • Work closely with hiring managers, HR Business Partners (HRBPs), and leadership teams to understand workforce needs and provide guidance on best hiring practices.
  • Partner with leadership to implement inclusive hiring practices that ensure a diverse candidate pool.
  • Collaborate with marketing to create compelling recruitment campaigns and materials that reflect the organization’s culture and mission.

Continuous Improvement

  • Stay informed about industry trends, tools, and best practices in talent acquisition, applying them to drive innovation within the organization.
  • Regularly evaluate and refine recruitment processes and systems to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Lead the adoption of new technologies and initiatives to enhance the candidate experience and meet the needs of a rapidly growing organization.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:  
This position supervises Talent Acquisition Team Members.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 7+ years of talent acquisition experience, including 3+ years in a leadership role, preferably within the IDD or behavioral health industry.
  • Demonstrated success in scaling recruitment functions to support organizational growth.
  • Proficiency with Workday ATS and other recruitment technologies.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to align talent acquisition strategies with organizational goals.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills, with a focus on coaching and development.
  • Exceptional project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Data-driven mindset, with the ability to analyze metrics and use insights to drive decisions.
  • Commitment to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace.
