An ETL Developer designs, builds, and manages data pipelines to extract, transform, and load data, ensuring clean, structured, and accessible information for business intelligence and analytics.
Core Responsibilities
ETL Developers are responsible for managing the flow of data from multiple sources into centralized storage systems. Their key duties include:
- Extracting Data: Collecting raw data from databases, applications, ERP/CRM systems, or external sources.Â
- Transforming Data: Cleaning, validating, aggregating, and converting data into a consistent format suitable for analysis.Â
- Loading Data: Storing transformed data into data warehouses, data lakes, or other storage systems for reporting and analytics.Â
- ETL Pipeline Development: Designing and implementing workflows that automate data movement and transformation, ensuring efficiency and reliability.Â
- Data Quality Assurance: Monitoring and validating data to maintain accuracy, consistency, and integrity.Â
- Performance Tuning: Optimizing ETL processes to handle large scale data efficiently and troubleshoot errors or bottlenecks.Â
- Collaboration: Working with data architects, analysts, and BI teams to understand business requirements and deliver actionable data solutions
Skills Required
- Experience developing ETL pipelines using Talend or equivalent ETL tools
- Extracting data from databases, applications, and ERP/CRM systems
