Position Summary

The Associate Director, Insights & Innovation (I&I) will lead a significant TAIP analytics capability, product domain, or portfolio of strategic initiatives. The role translates I&I strategy into executable roadmaps, connects business priorities to analytically sound solutions, and ensures methods, products, and insights are scalable, explainable, and embedded in decision workflows. The role serves as a senior thought partner, combining strategic leadership with hands-on oversight of complex delivery and capability building.

Key Responsibilities

• Capability Roadmap & Portfolio Leadership – own and sequence a capability-area roadmap across advanced analytics, automation, predictive methods, and AI-enabled decision support.  Define outcomes, dependencies, value measures, and adoption priorities in alignment with I&I leadership.
• Methodological Stewardship – Lead development, review, and governance methods across all major TAIP capability areas including feasibility, site selection, enrollment forecasting, portfolio insights, or execution health.  Establish standards and escalate material risks.
• Analytics Products, Platforms & Value Delivery – Act as business owner or senior product partner for TAIP analytics products such as Photon or other enterprise platforms.  Shape strategy, prioritize use cases, approve requirements, and challenge technical proposals.
• Applied Data Science & AI – shape how predictive modeling, simulation, machine learning, and AI are responsibly applied within TAIP to inform trial and portfolio decisions. Partner with enterprise data science teams to define analytical approaches, success criteria, and validation expectations, while ensuring transparency, interpretability, and regulatory appropriateness.
• Portfolio Decision Support – synthesize complex analyses into clear options, implications, risks, and recommendations for senior decision forums.
• Capability Building & Analytical Culture – lead matrix teams, and where applicable, managers or individual contributors.  Coach analytical judgment, consulting-quality problem solving, and disciplined documentation.
• Value Realization – monitor adoption, cycle-time reduction, decision quality, reuse, and reduction of manual effort; redirect work where value is not realized.

Qualifications & Experience

• Education: Preferred advanced degree (MBA, MSc, PhD, or equivalent) in a relevant field
• Experience:
  • 8+ years of experience across clinical development, trial analytics, biostatistics, data governance, advanced trial analytics, or management consulting
  • Leadership of cross-functional analytics, product, or transformation initiatives from concept through adoption.
  • Experience governing analytics platforms, tools, or data products in regulated or high-risk environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of predictive modeling, simulation, and/or machine learning concepts sufficient to challenge assumptions, evaluate limitations, and guide roadmap decisions.
  • Ability to advise senior stakeholders, frame decisions, manage ambiguity, and influence without authority.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, engage with senior stakeholders, and operate effectively across global functions

The starting compensation range(s) for this role are listed above for a full-time employee (FTE) basis. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility) may be available. The starting pay takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills, where the job is performed, the employee’s work schedule, job-related knowledge, and experience. The final compensation will be determined based on demonstrated experience and in accordance with pay equity principles and applicable employment laws.
