Systems Testing Specialist

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Systems Testing / QA Specialist to support quality assurance activities across complex technology initiatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive testing strategies, validating system functionality, identifying defects, and collaborating with technical and business stakeholders to ensure successful solution delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate and collaborate with Business Analysts during business requirements and use case walkthroughs.
  
• Develop and document comprehensive testing plans covering all phases and types of testing.
  
• Create and maintain detailed test scenarios and test cases aligned with approved business requirements and use cases.
  
• Develop and execute testing checklists and ensure completion through various testing stages.
  
• Incorporate testing readiness activities into production readiness processes.
  
• Troubleshoot technical issues identified during testing activities.
  
• Perform end-to-end functional testing based on documented test cases.
  
• Conduct regression testing to validate existing and newly developed functionality.
  
• Execute performance testing to ensure system responsiveness and integrity.
  
• Collaborate with IT teams to support vulnerability and security testing activities as required.
  
• Document identified defects, validate fixes, and re-test resolved issues.
  
• Support project planning, change management, and release/implementation activities.
  
• Contribute quality assurance artifacts required for architecture review and checkpoint activities.
  
• Collaborate with business subject matter experts to support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and Production Acceptance Testing (PAT).
  

Required Qualifications

Testing & Quality Assurance Experience

• 10+ years of experience developing test strategies, test plans, test scenarios, test cases, and troubleshooting technical issues.
  
• Demonstrated experience delivering testing and QA services using both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.

• Experience using version control systems and defect management tools such as Azure DevOps, Confluence, JIRA, and/or TestRail.
  

Technical Skills

• Experience configuring systems and testing environments.
  
• Experience testing both custom-developed solutions and Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) applications.
  
• Experience working with multi-tier, multi-platform, and integrated technology environments.
  
• Experience testing reporting systems.
  
• Experience with web, desktop, and mobile applications.
  
• Experience testing high-availability, mission-critical, 24x7 systems.
  
• Experience with systems debugging, refactoring, and optimization.
  

Communication & Interpersonal Skills

• Ability to identify, coordinate, and resolve system defects through to closure.
  
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  
• Experience preparing reports, documentation, and presenting findings to stakeholders.
  
• Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
  
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  
• Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.

• Proven ability to work effectively in team environments and meet deadlines.
  

Public Sector Knowledge

• Understanding of IT standards and guidelines related to developing test strategies, test scenarios, and test cases.
  
• Knowledge of security and privacy considerations in technology solution delivery.
  

Must-Have Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience developing test strategies, test plans, test scenarios, test cases, and troubleshooting technical issues.
  
• Experience with automated testing tools, including Selenium.
  
• Experience using version control and defect management tools such as Confluence, JIRA, and/or TestRail.
  
• Experience performing a broad range of testing activities including unit, functional, UAT, PAT, integration, performance, regression, load, security, backend, and web services testing.
  
• Experience with multi-tier, multi-platform, and integrated technology environments.
  
• Experience with system debugging, refactoring, and optimization.
