- Design and implement sophisticated microservice architectures, overseeing the full lifecycle of API gateways, databases, and application services.
- Develop and maintain containerized applications engineered for flexibility, ensuring they package seamlessly for both local servers and massive cloud-scale deployments.
- Implement rigorous security protocols, including robust authentication/authorization frameworks and comprehensive logging to protect critical network data.
- Deliver high-impact software across a diverse spectrum, from agile internal tooling to complex network management solutions for large-scale, space-based infrastructures.
- Own the creation and maintenance of our application development environments, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow for the entire team.
Who you are
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science.
- Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining web-based applications configured in microservice architectures.
- Demonstrated experience implementing secure systems, including authentication services, authorisation services, certificate and key management, encryption of data in transit and at rest, and configuration of services to guard against attack, including secure coding practices, DDoS protection, and access control.
- Demonstrated experience administering containerised applications in a cloud environment.
- Demonstrated experience with Python and low level languages (C/C++).
- Demonstrated experience creating REST APIs.
- Demonstrated Linux system administration skills.
- Demonstrated experience using GIT and related version control systems.
Desired Qualifications
- Certification or extensive experience on at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) or internally-hosted equivalent.
- Familiarity with Django or related Python framework.
- Experience administering Docker and Kubernetes.
- Working knowledge of Javascript, HTML, and CSS.
- Familiarity with data analytics and/or machine learning.
- Linux package and repository management.

What We Do
MBRYONICS designs, engineers, and manufactures optical payloads (optical communications and photonics) and optical ground stations for next generation extremely high throughput hybrid Optical/RF satellite systems, optical mesh networks, optical relays, and autonomous optical sensor networks for high precision space domain awareness.
We specialise in both the design and MAIT of optical and photonics systems for industrialised series production. MBRYONICS is pioneering the use of and industrialisation of FreeForm optics and photonic integrated circuits for space systems, including inter-satellite communications, optical feeder links, intra-satellite communications (analogue/digital) and microwave photonics applications.
We have nearly two decades of experience in research and development on some of the most challenging photonics and optics projects, finding cost effective solutions to new technical challenges. We regularly collaborate and consult with teams that need photonics and optics engineering, design and manufacturing AIT expertise, from early stage path finding to industrial production. Collaborating closely to identify the key problems and opportunities while bringing our years of experience to the table from a multidisciplinary team.
