Wells Fargo is seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Systems Operations Manager to lead our platform support and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) transformation initiatives for our large-scale global payments and international banking systems. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of systems operations, platform reliability, and technological transformation in the financial services sector. This role is critical to ensuring the availability, scalability, and resilience of our mission-critical financial platforms serving clients across multiple regions.
In this role, you will:
- Manage and develop teams of analysts, associates, and less experienced managers in roles that provide technical services and support for the relevant supported systems
- Engage and influence stakeholders, internal partners, and peers in order to engineer projects, identify new products and solutions, and research solutions for existing systems
- Identify and recommend opportunities for administration and maintenance of the remote monitoring and management system, as well as the periodic system review
- Perform network assessments, security audits, and system enhancement consultations
- Determine appropriate strategy and actions of Systems Operations team to meet moderate to high risk deliverables
- Interpret and develop policies and procedures, and understand compliance and risk management requirements for supported system area
- Provide implementation support for key risk initiatives
- Collaborate with and influence all levels of professionals, analysts, or associates
- Ensure the Systems Operations team communicates with customers to keep them informed of incident progress, and notify them of impending changes or agreed outages
- Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Systems Operations
- Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy
- 6+ years of Systems Engineering and Technology Architecture experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 3+ years of management or leadership experience

- Management or leadership experience
- 10+ years of experience in systems operations, platform engineering, or SRE roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity.
- Strong background in high-availability, large-scale financial systems, preferably in payments or international banking.
- In-depth knowledge of Oracle Financial banking products such as Oracle Banking Liquidity Management (OBLM), Oracle Banking Payments Management (OBPM), and Oracle Flexcube Universal Banking System, preferred 5+ years of experience
- Proven track record of leading SRE transformations and implementing automation, monitoring, and incident management frameworks.
- Deep understanding of ITIL, DevOps, and SRE principles, with hands-on experience in cloud and/or on-premises environments.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills across diverse and distributed teams.
- Experience with modern monitoring, alerting, and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, Datadog).
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, global environment.
- Role requires providing application support outside of standard business hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed to support international business operations. This includes participating in on-call rotations, responding to critical incidents, and ensuring the stability and availability of supported applications across global time zones.
- Adherence to Wells Fargo's hybrid work model, which requires employees to work a minimum of three days per week onsite at an assigned office location. The position offers flexibility for remote work on the remaining days, while ensuring in-office collaboration, engagement, and support for business-critical activities.
