The Role
  • About this role:
    Wells Fargo is seeking a System operations Engineer to join our Commercial and Corporate & Investment Banking Technology (CCIBT) team. To be successful, you will need to be a focused, self-motivated technologist who prioritizes stability of the application and infrastructure above all else. This position will be directly supporting Commercial Lending Application for our global customers.
    In this role, you will:
  • Support a suite of applications across varying technologies enabling Commercial Lending.
  • Monitor and act on incident tickets and ensuring the stability of the application.
  • Ensuring your availability for 16x6 hours of production monitoring.
  • Responsible for understanding the application and work on User service requests.
  • Responsible for production deployments, ensuring governance and controls and act as a gatekeeper for any changes to the production environment.
  • Provide cross-functional and cross-organizational coordination on root cause analysis for any production issues.
  • Drive recovery efforts during incident calls. Gather essential information for root cause analysis and stability improvement.
  • Inform leadership on ongoing issues through formal communications in alignment with ITIL best practices.
  • Learn new tools and concepts in platform engineering space to implement automation. Contribute to increasing system efficiencies and lowering the human intervention time on related tasks.
Required Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of experience working on application production support environment.
  • 3+ years of experience with Linux, Autosys, Service now
  • 2+ years database support/knowledge with Mongo and/or SQL experience (Oracle SQL)
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience in production support environment (major/large banking technology experience).
  • Hands on experience using monitoring tools like Splunk, AppDynamics, Grafana, Geneos ITRS etc.
  • Proficiency in utilizing Service Now for incident, problem, and change management (opening incidents, reviewing changes, documenting records).
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Knowledge on Salesforce, nCino is an advantage
Job Expectations:
  • Ability to help drive recovery efforts during incidents and help identify key players.
  • Open to work in flexible hours and on-call support.
  • Quality communicator: Ability to communicate (written/oral) with teams and leadership to clearly explain issues and status updates in plain language.
  • Hands on experience setting up observability for production applications and infrastructure monitoring/alerting.
  • Ability to learn and work on User service requests.
  • Experience in setting up review and ability to analyze complex technical challenges which require in-depth evaluation of problems and coordinating solutions with partners.
  • Willingness to work on-site as per in office expectation guidelines at stated location.
  • Document processes and alert response runbooks. Ensure technical knowledge is shared widely throughout the team.
