In this role, you will:
- Participate in complex technical issues and initiatives related to large scale applications, systems, databases, or other technical products and services
- Identify opportunity for process improvements within technical support strategies and plans
- Review and analyze technical queries to extract data, create standard databases, or perform limited programming to fine tune systems supporting low to medium risk technical deliverables
- Present recommendations for resolving complex technical queries
- Exercise some independent judgment to analyze performance trends and recommend process improvements while developing understanding of technical process controls or standards
- Work as an internal consultant regarding use of tools and processes
- Provide information related to supported system area to functional colleagues, internal partners and stakeholders, including internal customers
- 2+ years of Systems Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF) / Tanzu Application Service (TAS):
- Role: PCF Engineer
- Responsibilities:
- Collaborating with development teams to optimize application deployment.
- Managing Certificate rotation.
- Monitoring and optimizing PCF performance.
- Implementing security best practices for PCF environments.
- Troubleshooting and resolving issues related to PCF infrastructure.
- Managing / planning for entire Platform upgrade using automation.
- Deploying, managing, and scaling applications on PCF.
- Skills and Qualifications:
- Basic understanding in VMware about ESXI host, storage.
- Familiarity with containerization and microservices.
- Knowledge of PCF services, buildpacks, and routes.
- Experience with BOSH for deployment and management.
- Proficiency in PCF architecture and components.
- Tanzu Kubernetes Grid Integrated (TKGI) (formerly known as Pivotal Kubernetes Service - PKS):
- Role: Kubernetes Engineer
- Responsibilities:
- Integrating TKGI with other tools and services.
- Troubleshooting Kubernetes-related issues.
- Managing and configuring TKGI network config profiles.
- Configuring networking, security, and storage for Kubernetes.
- Deploying and managing Kubernetes clusters using TKGI.
- Skills and Qualifications:
- Basic understanding in VMware about ESXI host, storage.
- Familiarity with container orchestration best practices.
- Knowledge of Helm, Istio, and other Kubernetes ecosystem tools.
- Experience with TKGI/PKS installation and administration.
- Proficiency in Kubernetes architecture and components.
- Terraform / Concourse CI/CD/ Monitoring:
- Setting up and maintaining Concourse pipelines for continuous integration and delivery.
- Knowledge of Git, Docker, and other CI/CD tools.
- Strong scripting and automation skills.
- Write and maintain Terraform scripts to define and provision cloud resources.
- Implement best practices for infrastructure automation and version control.
- Knowledge of time-series databases and alerting rules.
- Familiarity with Grafana integration for visualization.
- Public Cloud (Azure and GCP):
- Role: Cloud Engineer
- Responsibilities: Designing, deploying, and managing cloud resources on Azure and GCP.
- Basic understanding to manage the network, storage.
- Implementing security controls and best practices.
- Monitoring and optimizing cloud infrastructure.
- Collaborating with development teams on cloud-native applications.
- Managing Microservices in AKS with service integration.
- Skills and Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Azure and GCP services.
- Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, ARM templates).
- Knowledge of networking, identity management, and storage.
- Familiarity with serverless computing and Kubernetes on Azure/GCP.
- Setting up and managing image registries (e.g., Docker Hub, Harbor).
- Collaborating with development teams on image deployment.
