Protect the Technology That Keeps Us MovingModern aviation depends on more than what goes into the aircraft. It depends on the technology, networks, systems, and security behind the people building it.
Universal Avionics is looking for a Systems and Network Security Engineer to help keep that environment secure, resilient, and running.
This is not a role where infrastructure and cybersecurity live in separate worlds.
You'll work across servers, networks, cloud environments, identity, security tooling, disaster recovery, and the systems our teams rely on every day. You'll solve problems when something breaks, strengthen the environment before something does, and help us make smarter security decisions as our technology evolves.
If you like understanding how everything connects, finding the weak points, and building systems that are harder to break and easier to trust, we want to talk to you.
What You'll DoOwn and strengthen critical server, network, cloud, and hybrid infrastructure
Administer and troubleshoot switches, routers, firewalls, wireless networks, VPNs, servers, virtualization, identity services, and core network services
Design security solutions that help us identify, protect, detect, respond to, and recover from cyber threats
Deploy and manage security technologies including SIEM, DLP, IPS/IDS, and endpoint detection and response
Apply identity-based access controls and zero-trust principles across on-premises and cloud environments
Evaluate vulnerabilities, conduct risk assessments, and help build security into new and existing technology
Monitor infrastructure health, availability, and security and respond when something isn't right
Strengthen backup, recovery, system hardening, monitoring, and incident-response practices
Stay current on emerging threats and translate what you're seeing into practical action
Mentor IT Support Specialists and help solve the technical problems that need another level of expertise
Partner across the business to make security part of everyday technology decisions
5–7 years of experience across systems administration, networking, cybersecurity, or a combination of these areas
Strong knowledge of network security principles, practices, and technologies
Hands-on experience with enterprise servers, networks, cloud or hybrid environments, and security tooling
Experience with technologies such as SIEM, DLP, IPS/IDS, EDR, firewalls, VPNs, virtualization, identity, and access controls
The ability to troubleshoot complex problems across systems rather than looking at each technology in isolation
Strong judgment when the pressure is on and systems need to get back online
The ability to communicate technical issues clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
A bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Industry certifications in systems, networking, or security such as Microsoft, Cisco, CISSP, CISM, Security+, or equivalent are a plus
