Position Summary
Aether is seeking a highly skilled and collaborative Systems Integrator to support and optimize the technology ecosystem across our family of companies, including Chicago Lightworks, Indiana Lightworks, and Archetype Services.
This role serves as the bridge between business operations, software vendors, developers, and IT partners to ensure that the organization's technology platforms operate as a unified, secure, and scalable system. The Systems Integrator will be responsible for managing and maintaining the company's software architecture, integrations, databases, cloud infrastructure, APIs, security protocols, and application ecosystems while driving continuous improvement through automation and workflow optimization.
The ideal candidate combines technical expertise with strong business acumen and has experience supporting custom software deployments, Agile development environments, and cross-functional technology initiatives. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring that data flows seamlessly between systems, technology investments are fully utilized, and operational teams can work efficiently across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Systems Integration & Architecture
- Design, implement, test, deploy, and maintain integrations between internal and third-party software platforms.
- Develop and manage APIs, middleware solutions, and data exchange processes to ensure seamless communication between applications.
- Monitor system performance and proactively identify integration issues, data inconsistencies, or workflow bottlenecks.
- Document system architecture, integration specifications, workflows, and technical standards.
- Establish best practices for scalable, maintainable, and secure system integrations.
- Software Administration & Platform Management
- Serve as the primary administrator and technical liaison for key business applications.
- Manage relationships with software vendors, implementation partners, and external IT providers.
- Configure and maintain enterprise systems including custom-developed platforms and commercial software applications.
- Evaluate new technologies and recommend solutions that improve operational effectiveness.
- Coordinate software upgrades, testing, deployments, and ongoing maintenance activities.
- Custom Software Deployment & Development Support
- Partner with Operations Leads and software development teams to define requirements, prioritize enhancements, and support product roadmaps.
- Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, testing, deployment, and user acceptance validation.
- Support the deployment and continuous improvement of Aether's custom software systems for:
- Design and engineering workflows
- Sales and CRM functions
- Quotation and estimating processes
- Order entry and management
- Operational reporting and analytics
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications and integration solutions.
- Business Process Automation
- Identify opportunities to automate repetitive processes and reduce manual data entry.
- Design workflows that improve usability, data accuracy, and operational efficiency.
- Leverage automation, integration tools, and low-code/no-code platforms where appropriate.
- Ensure data integrity across business systems and reporting environments.
- Security & Infrastructure
- Support cloud-based infrastructure, security protocols, access controls, and application governance standards.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external IT providers to maintain cybersecurity best practices.
- Monitor system compliance, backups, business continuity processes, and disaster recovery readiness.
- Assist in evaluating security implications of software implementations and integrations.
- User Support & Training
- Act as a trusted technology resource for operational teams across all business units.
- Provide technical guidance, troubleshooting, and escalation support related to integrated systems.
- Develop training materials and documentation for new workflows and technologies.
- Support user adoption and change management initiatives during software rollouts.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 3+ years of experience in systems integration, application administration, business systems analysis, or related technical roles.
- Experience integrating business applications through APIs, web services, ETL processes, or middleware platforms.
- Working knowledge of relational databases, data structures, and system architecture concepts.
- Experience supporting cloud-based infrastructure and SaaS platforms.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into business terms.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting custom software deployment and implementation projects.
- Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies.
- Experience working directly with software development teams and business stakeholders.
- Knowledge of REST APIs, JSON, SQL, data mapping, and workflow automation platforms.

- Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or AWS.
