The Defense Systems Sector, is seeking a talented Systems, Integration, and Test (SEIT) Engineer Intern to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.
The Systems, Integration, and Test (SEIT) Engineer Intern will work in a matrixed organization at Dynetics, supporting the Ground Based Defense System Program with a diverse team of engineers within. Leidos Defense Systems Sector provides a diverse portfolio of systems, solutions, and services covering land, sea, air, space, and cyberspace for customers worldwide. Solutions for Defense include enterprise and mission IT, large-scale intelligence systems, command and control, geospatial and data analytics, cybersecurity, logistics, training, and intelligence analysis and operations support.
Primary Responsibilities
The Systems, Integration, and Test (SEIT) Engineer Intern candidate will interface with program management, design engineers, and SEIT engineers to support the program’s SEIT needs throughout its design life cycle, including modeling system behavior, documentation support, performing requirements verification and validation, supporting system safety engineering activities, helping develop test programs, test plan and procedure support and validation, and maintaining configuration management.
Basic Qualifications
- Currently in training to receive a degree in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited university.
- Position requires candidates to be capable of performing in a collaborative engineering environment working closely with multi-disciplinary teams.
- Demonstrated experience effectively communicating within a team environment.
- Candidates must have knowledge of and experience with MS Office Tools
- Resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.
- Must be a US Citizen and be able to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance with Leidos.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience deriving and managing requirements.
- Experience working with Cameo Systems Modeler or any variant of that software.
- Educational or Professional experience in deriving requirements for complex electrical, electro-mechanical, mechanical, and software systems.
- INCOSE Systems Engineering Professional (SEP) certification (ASEP)
- Experience with test execution.
- Working knowledge and operation of electronic test equipment (e.g. oscilloscope, voltmeter, signal analyzer/generator)
- Working knowledge of software languages Python, C, C++, C# and or firmware languages for Xilinx or Altera devices
- Experience with Linux, Matlab, Labview, and WireShark
- Understanding of the DoD acquisition processes and methods
- Experience supporting DoD, NASA, or DARPA program
