Inside the Role
Join the Software & Electronics Development Process (SEDP) Group within TT/S for an exciting opportunity to transform and continuously improve Daimler Truck Technology’s software and EE development processes. This group is part of the Process, Methods, Tools, and Operations (PMT&O) department within TT/S. Established in 2021, TT/S is a global software and electronics organization responsible for end-to-end SW & EE development to deliver world-class software and features. TT/S includes more than 1,400 employees across the U.S., Germany, and India.This Senior Systems Engineering (SE) & SW/EE Development Process (SEDP) Lead role is intentionally split 50/50 across two areas: (1) Systems Engineering and (2) SW & EE Development Process rollout and adoption. The position supports the Global Systems Engineering Team and the Global SEDP team (TT/S70), with day-to-day collaboration across both. On the Systems Engineering side, you will help define and implement roles and processes and enable teams to execute consistently. On the SEDP side, you will define, align, roll out, and sustain SEDP across global regions, driving adoption through change management, coaching, governance, and measurable outcomes. Both areas (SEDP and SE) in combination will lead to the value in our global Software Development we are looking for. This role requires strong leadership, change management expertise, deep Systems Engineering process knowledge, and the ability to influence at all levels of the organization. This position is located in Portland; it reports to the local PMT&O manager, with functional alignment to the TT/S collaboration model lead.

Position offers a starting salary range of $117,000 – $150,000 USD
Pay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience.

What You Drive for SEDP (50%)
- Lead global process transformation initiatives within TT/S, ensuring alignment with enterprise objectives and measurable outcomes.
- Develop and execute regional rollout and adoption plans, including training, communications, and change management.
- Coach and mentor regional and global change agents, process owners, and teams to enable adoption and long-term sustainment.
What You Drive for Systems Engineering (50%)
- Define and implement roles and processes for common Systems Engineering
- Partner with engineering teams to define templates, guidance, and governance for SE work products and reviews (e.g., requirements quality, architecture decisions, traceability expectations).
What You Drive for both:
- Influence stakeholders and senior leadership to remove roadblocks, make timely decisions, and drive progress on critical deliverables.
- Facilitate executive- and staff-level workshops to align on scope, decisions, and next steps, and to translate outcomes into actionable plans.
- Define and monitor KPIs to measure rollout health, adoption, compliance, and execution quality (e.g., requirements/traceability coverage where applicable).
- Create and deliver executive-ready communications on status, risks, decisions needed, and opportunities.
- Apply change management practices to ensure smooth adoption of SEDP across regions, functions, and cultures.
- Drive continuous improvement of process, methods, tools.
- Collaborate with global partners to harmonize standards, templates, governance, and change control across TT/S
Knowledge You Should Bring
- Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience, including leadership in process transformation, continuous improvement, systems engineering process development, or project/program management.
- Proven experience and open mindedness in collaborating with cross-functional, global teams and driving organizational change.
- Strong knowledge of R&D and downstream process development, and structured problem solving.
- Knowledge of software development methodologies and Systems Engineering approaches (e.g., V-model), ideally within TT/S.
- Understanding of Daimler Truck development fundamentals (CVDS) basic knowledge of function based systems approach
- Exceptional communication and networking skills across countries and cultures.
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and manage complex projects.
- Strong analytical skills, strategic thinking, and ability to define KPIs.
- Ability to collaborate across time zones and travel internationally as needed.
- Knowledge of change management frameworks and organizational development principles.
- Self-motivated with a positive, resilient mindset.
Exceptional Candidates Might Have
- Experience with the global systems engineering team defining systems, roles, and processes.
- Formal training or certifications in project management, Scrum, agile methodologies, change management, process management, or continuous improvement.
- Experience facilitating large-scale workshops and executive-level meetings.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.).
- Familiarity with process modeling tools (e.g., Signavio).
- Experience in global process harmonization and continuous improvement initiatives.
