AUTHORITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversees the creation and preservation of an environment within the company that fosters the highest level of commitment to continuous improvement in product quality, problem prevention and the total quality system.
- Governing engineering quality checks to ensure that products and processes meet industry and customer requirements and standards
- Responsible for engineering’s support of International Organization of Standardization (ISO) certification.
- Oversees responsibility for the development of policies, procedures and work instructions governing engineering processes
- Oversees the development, planning and directing the activities of systems engineering so that maximum, measurable results are achieved.
- Works with quality department management to align departmental activities to drive measurable results.
- Oversees that a quality system is in place that prevents defects and leads to stable processes with least variation.
- Oversees necessary control systems are in place, and that product testing is performed, so that only products that meet all internal and external quality requirements are incorporated into the vessel
- Oversees technical guidance to ensure advanced statistical tools are effectively utilized for continuous product and process improvement.
- Oversees operating principles and guidelines meet customer requirements and enhance the company's quality performance.
- Oversees the root cause for a quality problem is quickly determined and that effective, permanent solutions are implemented.
- Maintains communication with customers on quality and continuous improvement requirements and expectations.
- Oversees planning and scheduling activities to ensure consistent product development processes.
- Support customer proposals by providing technical information and direction related to engineering quality standards and processes.
- Lead root cause and corrective action process (RCCA) in response to engineering continuous improvement initiatives
QUALIFICATIONS / KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline such as Mechanical, Industrial or other
- Ten years or more related experience in quality systems with a track record of increasing responsibilities. Requires a thorough understanding of statistics and quality control procedures in a high volume manufacturing environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication with presence in front of customers.
- Excellent data analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Lean / Six Sigma experience, leading process improvement initiatives
- Strong knowledge and experience with Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001, government standards) and Certifications

DISCRETION EXERCISED: Full discretionary authority to correct and discipline, recommend pay increase, transfers, promotions, discharges, and process grievances
LIASES WITH: Production departments, Project department, Quality department, surveyors, and clients
