Northrop Grumman Space Systems is currently seeking a Systems Engineering Manager - Level 2 - SEIT Section Manager to join our Systems Engineering Integration and Test (SEIT) team within Launch Systems Business Unit at the Chandler, AZ facility.
The position will report to the SEIT Department Manager who oversees Systems Engineering and Integrated Product Team leaders supporting Launch Systems programs. The expectation is that this position is primarily performing program related scope with limited overhead related for department/personnel related functional activities.
This position will provide technical leadership in support of critical programs.
In this job, you will
Be responsible for interviewing and hiring additional SEIT personnel and will functionally manage high performing teams while providing technical, administrative, and management expertise in the day-to-day activities required to successfully execute complex engineering programs.
Essential Functions (additional responsibilities may be assigned outside of this list):
Functional management of approximately 10-15 systems engineers (10-15% of the time)
Time sheet approval
Writing and conducting quarterly connection notes/meetings for direct reports
Provide timely feedback and direction to direct reports
Assess and communicate staffing needs and actuals on at least a monthly basis
Management of department metrics
Maintenance of department processes, standards and command media
Training
Onboarding New Hires
Mentoring
Interviewing candidates
Technical Oversight / Leadership
May serve as the technical and leadership authority for an IPT team, delivering on challenging performance, schedule, and cost objectives.
Engage, inspire, and guide cross-functional teams to achieve program milestones, ensuring clear communication and strong alignment across all stakeholders.
Proactively manage team assignments, workloads, and collaboration across internal teams and external partnerships.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) with 8 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in STEM with 6 years of related engineering experience, or a PhD in STEM with 4 year of experience
Must have an active US Government Secret Security clearance
U.S. Citizenship
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated leadership experience
Experience as Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead, Technical lead, or other leadership role in a program office or business function with demonstrated team building, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Experience with developing and executing project schedules.
Aerospace experience
Preferred Qualifications:
>10 years of Launch or Missile Systems Engineering experience
Program execution experience
A strong experienced-based and academic foundation in Systems Engineering fundamentals
Experience with Earned Value Management System and managing a Cost Account
Expertise in rocket and missile systems development.

Primary Level Salary Range: $139,100.00 - $208,700.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
