Systems Engineer (Product Lifecycle Engineering) 

About the Role 

The primary role of the Engineering function within Product Development team is to develop, manage, and maintain system-level requirements and architectures for products, including enhancements to existing products and platforms. Works closely with customers, developers, regulatory, quality, and other stakeholders to ensure products meet defined customer and business expectations. 

As a Systems Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in guiding system-level design and integration across hardware and software domains. You will have the flexibility to determine the most effective approaches to achieve desired outcomes, leveraging your technical expertise and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

The primary objective of this role is to ensure that products meet requirements for safety, regulatory compliance, quality, performance, functionality and reliability throughout the product lifecycle Key responsibilities include: develop and maintain system-level requirements, specifications, and architectures that meet customer needs and business objectives; ensure system designs comply with applicable regulatory, safety, and quality standards; and collaborate effectively with all stakeholders. 

In this role you will: 

  • Define and manage system interfaces, including interactions between device subsystems and external business applications. 

  • Identify, analyze, and resolve system design weaknesses and performance gaps. 

  • Deliver innovative solutions that enhance product reliability, usability, and lifecycle performance. 

  • Contribute to the successful execution of product lifecycle activities within defined timelines and resources. 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements, interfaces, and deliverables. 

  • Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and technical discussions to ensure system integrity. 

  • Support lifecycle activities such as change management, issue investigation, and post-market analysis. 

  • Share systems engineering knowledge and best practices to strengthen team capability. 

Let's Talk About Qualifications and Experience 

Required 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (e.g., Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, Biomedical, or related field). 

  • Minimum of 2 years of related engineering experience 

  • Strong understanding of systems engineering principles, including requirements development, system architecture, and interface definition. 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex system interactions. 

  • Familiarity with risk management processes (e.g., system risk analysis, DFMEA) and regulatory frameworks. 

  • Familiarity with applicable industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., safety, quality, and medical device standards) and the ability to apply them within system design and lifecycle activities. 

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. 

  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment. 

Preferred 

  • Experience networking with contacts outside own area of expertise and leading sub-functional teams or projects. 

  • Experience in leveraging AI innovatively to improve productivity.
