a Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting Vertis Technology
clients’ IT infrastructure and handle systems administration tasks. The ideal candidate
will also be responsible for providing timely and accurate end-user level 2 technology
support to clients; as well as engineering innovative and productivity enhancing
solutions by means of automation. Candidates must have strong troubleshooting,
written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work independently with
little or no supervision.
Job Responsibilities:
- Create functional design specifications, reference architectures, and assist with other project deliverables as needed.
- Provide recommendations to clients with respect to solutions and strategies
- Design state-of-the-art technical solutions that address customer's requirements for scalability, reliability, security, and performance.
- Collaborate with other project teams on technical solutions.
- Staying up-to-date on all technical developments related to Data Centre and Cloud.
- If required, perform client assessments in support of design, implementations and on-going support
- Provide sales consultation on fundamental security & isolation methodologies and features
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience/certifications
- 2+ years of designing and implementing Data Centre solutions
- Previous, demonstrated experience migrating on premise to on-premise environments or on-premise to any cloud environment
- Storage Experience with any of Gartner's leading storage solutions
- Virtualization experience with VMware or Microsoft
- Proven design, planning and implementation experience with compute
- Working knowledge of most relevant operating systems
- Strong verbal and written communications skills, as well as the ability to work effectively across internal & external organizations
Desired Skills:
- Basic networking features & constraints including VPN, Subnetting, Routing, etc.
- Experience with Migration and Hybrid Migration projects.
- Moderate Network, firewall configuration and router troubleshooting experience
