The Systems Engineer is responsible for the engineering and administration of critical systems infrastructure including the definition, development, design, integration, and implementation of technical services for a domain area.
Responsibilities• Plan, design, build, test, and implement IT infrastructure systems and technology.• Deploy, install, integrate, maintain, and administer systems including hardware, software, and configurations. • Lead the planning, life-cycle management, and development for systems.• Monitor overall performance to proactively identify potential issues and tune or improve environment appropriately. • Perform routine risk assessments for infrastructure systems and service levels.• Regularly explore ways to scale, automate, and make service delivery more efficient.• Create and maintain technical documentation on designs, engineering procedures, and implementation or operational work products.• Work with others to establish and improve processes and procedures.• Ensure integration with other systems and adherence to IT or business strategies.• Conduct technology or product exploration, prototypes, and pilots that deliver innovative IT solutions.• Evaluate and recommend product standards and new purchases.• Drive technical projects by determining scope, managing deliverables, and tracking progress for the creation or deployment of new solutions. • Estimate and manage life-cycle costs and product level roadmaps.• Provide decision making, leadership, and coaching or mentoring to others in a group. • Serve as liaison with other teams, vendors, consultants, and customer groups.• Demonstrate strong communication skills and ability to thrive in a collaborative and independent environment.
QualificationsMinimum Work Experience/Educational Requirements
• Minimum four-year technical university degree or equivalent experience; coursework towards advanced degree encouraged.• Minimum eight years of prior relevant work experience for the position.• Multiple advanced level industry technical certifications.
• Possess an advanced to comprehensive knowledge of subject matter. • Performs work under minimal supervision. • Handles majority of technical issues and work constraints, referring only most complex issues to higher-level staff.
