Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related discipline
• 8+ years of Enterprise IT Experience
• Required SECRET clearance level.
• 8140 IAT Level II

Certain states and localities require employers to post a reasonable estimate of salary range. A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range for this position is $100,000 to $130,000 annually. Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors, including shift, location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that is not included in the base pay.

What will you be doing?

Position Title: SME Master - Systems Engineer

Location: Ft. Meade, MD

WWT is seeking a Systems Engineer to serve as a Subject Matter Expert, possessing in-depth knowledge of service provider networks. They must also possess the ability to provide technical knowledge and analysis of highly specialized applications and operational environments, high-level functional systems analysis, design, integration, documentation and implementation advice on exceptionally complex problems that need extensive knowledge of the subject matter for effective implementation for networks supporting Voice, Video, and Data services.  

Skills and Responsibilities:

• Technologies include optical transport, ODXC (optical digital cross-connect), TDM (time division multiplexing), Circuit to Packet networks. An understanding of IP, MPLS, ATM, and Frame Relay networks, network management applications and associated databases. 
• Support technical refresh planning of MPLS Core routers.
• Plan and implement MACsec.
• Support the TDM program.
• Enhance the SIPR network.
• Optimize the DMN.
• Refresh the optical network.
• Develop and record systems engineering designs.
• Automate engineering design processes where applicable.
• Evaluate and propose automation opportunities.
• Identify and optimize workflows in service design, service order and management service provisioning, and service quality management.
• Propose technology solutions to replace End-of-Life (EOL) and End-of-Service (EOS) legacy technology.
• Legacy Sonet/Optical technology refresh to include but not limited to ODXC and MSPP devices on the DISN (Defense Information Systems Network)
• The development of Systems Engineering Designs to design and record the following: 
• High level topology 
• Node installation overview 
• Port and services tables 
• Circuit tables 
• Revision history
