The Opportunity
We’re looking for a self-driven and go-getter Systems Engineer ready to take the next step in their career. This is more than just BAU support. You'll play a key role in improving and owning core infrastructure systems like Active Directory across hybrid cloud and Microsoft stack. You will contribute to our cybersecurity transformation program, and mentor our more junior engineers as you work towards becoming a future Technical Team Lead.
This is a hands-on technical role that also contributes to IT strategy. You will be supporting and working closely with stakeholders across all business units.
You'll join a collaborative, fast-paced, and customer-focused internal IT team, where you'll mentor junior staff to help them develop their technical skills and work alongside senior team members to implement best practices and build team capability.
This is a hybrid role 3 days at the office and 2 days working from home.

What you'll be doing:
- Deploy, configure, maintain and decommission server infrastructure (physical & virtual)
- Maintain and improve on-prem Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and authentication systems
- Manage hybrid cloud environments with Microsoft Azure, Intune, and Endpoint Configuration Manager
- Provide Level 2 and 3 support, responding for server-related incidents and service requests.
- Monitor system performance and conduct patching, updates, and backups
- Support a cybersecurity program delivering zero-trust capabilities
- Document processes and lead knowledge-sharing sessions
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to their technical development
- Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to deliver projects and improvements
Required Experience and Technical Skills:
- IT degree (Engineering, Science, Maths, or equivalent).
- 3–5 years of experience in systems/infrastructure engineering roles across cloud networking and Microsoft Stack.
- Experience in systems administration for Linux and Microsoft
- Strong experience with on-prem Active Directory and hybrid cloud environments.
- Demonstrated experience across the following Microsoft infrastructure stack:
- Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD).
- Endpoint Configuration Manager (Intune, SCCM).
- On-prem Active Directory and Group Policy Management.
- Microsoft Azure Infrastructure management, including Azure Arc and Update Manager to help manage a hybrid environment.
- VMWare Horizon Virtual Desktop Virtual Desktop Infrastructure.
- Intune for End-User-Compute device management.
- Great communication skills – articulate, clear.
- Strong customer-focused and experience providing level 2 and level 3 support.
- A “go-getter” who thrives on ownership and mentoring.
- Holding full working rights for Australia.
Desirable Experience and Technical Skills:
- Exposure to cybersecurity tools (e.g. Microsoft Defender, Fortinet firewall management)
- Experience maintaining Fortinet, Cisco or Juniper network infrastructure
- Experience in system process improvement and documentation best practices
- Familiarity with containerised environments and distributed systems
