Job Title – Systems Engineer

Skills –Application support for large scale production environment running on Unix & Java platform. Candidates need to be versatile with ITIL processes, cloud technologies and flexible to ready to work on different shifts and oncall rotations. Additional skills like automation / scripting will be highly recommended.

The Purpose of This Role

This is a support position for production Services group which maintains and manages all the Fidelity application environment. This position provides ample opportunity for learning new technologies and working on them including cloud platforms.

• You should be providing 2nd level support for identification and communication of environment/ application problems

• Assisting and gathering performance and availability metrics

• You need to Identify potential process improvements, and opportunities to streamline procedures

• Investigating potential new tools to reduce triage time and improve results

• You should carry out Application deployments and new server build outs.

• Overseeing small projects as both an individual contributor and as a team player

• You need to assist in on-going environment validation tasks

• You should participate in oncall rotations

The Skills that are Key to this role

Technical

• Ability to demonstrate through 2- 4 years of work experience like knowledge on troubleshooting enterprise web applications, including configuration issues, in a Unix/Linux environment with J2EE, WebSphere, Tomcat and SQL technologies.

• Working knowledge of Azure cloud platforms & services

• Working knowledge of Docker Container, Kubernetes

• A working knowledge of python and / or ansible is a must.

• Good working knowledge on ITIL processes like Incident management, Change management etc.,

• Demonstrated ability to ask the right questions to get to the bottom of issues, to identify root cause

• Skilled at balancing project work with interrupt-driven tasks and re-evaluating priorities frequently based on new information

• You should be able to prioritize issues for resolution, hold or escalation

• Tenacious and good with follow-through, recognizing things that need to be done and pushing self and others to achieve goals.

• Ability to learn new technologies on the job in a fast-paced environment

The Production Services team supports 3000+ Fidelity enterprise applications catering to many internal and external Fidelity customers throughout the world. Any down times in these applications might result in reputation or financial loss to Fidelity

BU Overview

Production Services (EI-PS) is a centralized support services organization in the Enterprise Infrastructure group of Fidelity. This organization was formed in March 2017 when support groups from various Fidelity business units were merged to form a centralized support organization. EI-PS supports 3000+ applications across all Fidelity business units. Services provided by the EI-PS organization include incident management, change management, environment management, Web (Middleware) & Database Services, Mainframe operations, Release Services & Performance Engineering services. 

The Expertise We’re Looking For

• 2 to 4 years of Experience

• B.E or MCA

• Demonstrated experience in all the following:  Unix scripting, supporting application on either of the 3 application servers – WebSphere or Windows IIS or Tomcat. Experience in ITIL process.

Location: Bangalore / Chennai

Shift timings: 6:30AM to 10PM IST
