Systems Engineer

Role Summary

The System Engineer (SE) will be accountable for the technical success of complex solutions to customers. The SE leads architectural and functional discussions, drafts comprehensive functional and development requirements, contributes to RFP/RFI responses and attends technical customer meetings. The SE also performs competitive analyses and authors white papers and technical customer presentations. The SE works closely with R&D teams, PLM, business development and account teams, across offices in the US, Europe and Asia. The SE will be expected to work in Unified Communication & Collaboration/Enterprise solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify innovative solutions to meet customer requirements and challenges
• Develop comprehensive and detailed functional requirements covering all aspects of the product or feature, and present these to the SE team and R&D
• Work with and understand protocol specifications to ensure successful multi-vendor interoperability across complex end-to-end solutions
• Work with partners and 3rd party vendors in to close on requirements and build winning end-to-end solutions
• Work closely with R&D to ensure implementation meets requirements
• Assist Sales Engineering and Business Development teams in creating technical proposals for all business opportunities
• Assist with RFP/RFI responses
• Represent Mavenir in technical face-to-face customer meetings and forums
• Develop a deep understanding of Mavenir’s competitive products, developing positioning papers to put Mavenir into a winning position
• Protect Mavenir’s intellectual property rights through patent filings as necessary
• Attend occasional off hour conference calls with Mavenir offices in US, Europe and Asia
• Up to 20% domestic and international travel may be necessary

Job Requirements

Experience: 8 to 15 years

Specific Skills/Experience:
• Experience as a Systems Engineer or Solution Architect in the Unified Communication and Collaboration/Enterprise/Telecom industry.
• Good understanding of various Enterprise applications/features and its technologies (network side).
• Understanding of VoLTE, VoWiFi, IMS and Enterprise solution and specifications are plus.

• Understanding of and experience with the following protocols: SIP, HTTP/REST.
• Understanding of virtualized product architecture, NFV, Containerization.

• Understanding of various DB and object storage technologies are plus.

• Ability to work and succeed under limited supervision and guidance.
• Ability to communicate with all parts of the company, adapting to different personalities and situations.
• Ability to work in a very fast-paced and constantly changing environment.
• Ability to work flexible hours to facilitate working with Mavenir employees at other sites.
