We're seeking a skilled, motivated engineer who can see the big picture of AI's potential and through guidance as well as hands-on work translate that into a robust, flexible architecture. Your work will directly impact our ability to deliver seamless, integrated AI solutions to our clients, setting us apart in a competitive market. Your expertise is crucial in ensuring our platform can scale effortlessly, adapt to new AI breakthroughs, and maintain peak performance as we grow.

Here's what you'll be doing
In this position, you'll be at the forefront of designing and implementing our unified AI platform. You'll work closely with our team of AI engineers, data scientists, and product managers to create a system that's both powerful and intuitive. Your role will be highly strategic and hands-on:

• Craft the overarching architecture for our Python-based AI platform, ensuring scalability, performance, and flexibility.
• Design and implement core systems that enable seamless integration of diverse AI services, from natural language processing to computer vision and beyond, and guide their implementation.
• Develop standardized APIs and protocols that allow for easy addition of new AI services and capabilities to the platform.
• Partner with our AI research team to stay ahead of emerging technologies and incorporate them into our architecture.
• Lead the technical design reviews and provide mentorship to our engineering team, fostering a culture of architectural excellence.

You need these qualifications

• At least 8 years of experience designing and developing software architecture, with a proven track record of implementing large-scale, distributed systems.
• Expert-level Python skills, including deep knowledge of its ecosystem and best practices for building robust, scalable applications.
• Comprehensive experience with cloud technologies and microservices architectures, particularly in AI and machine learning contexts.
• Successfully led the architectural design of and mentored teams in at least one major ML or AI-driven product or platform.
• Mastery in building and scaling systems using enterprise architecture components like microservices, serverless functions, message queues, and event pub/sub models.
• Deep understanding of API design, including the ability to articulate tradeoffs between REST, GraphQL, and gRPC architectures.
• Proven expertise in performance testing and optimization and designing for system resiliency, including identifying and mitigating potential bottlenecks and failure points.

It would be nice if:

• You have led the implementation of comprehensive observability solutions for complex distributed systems.
• You've worked on systems that integrate multiple AI services, such as NLP, computer vision, and predictive analytics.
• You have knowledge of AI model deployment and serving strategies at scale and guided teams in their adoption.
• You've contributed to open-source projects in the AI or systems architecture space.
