Description

You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the company's IT infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and security. This role requires a deep understanding of various IT systems, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

• Design, deploy, and manage IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and storage systems.
• Monitor and optimize the performance of IT systems to ensure reliability and efficiency.
• Implement and manage security measures to protect data and systems from cyber threats.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with other IT team members and departments to support various IT projects and initiatives.
• Maintain documentation of system configurations, processes, and procedures.
• Perform regular system backups and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity.
• Stay up to date with the latest technology trends and best practices to recommend improvements and innovations.
• Provide technical support and guidance utilizing an ITSM based ticketing system.
• Mentor and guide junior IT staff members.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or a combination of education and equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 4 years' experience as Systems Administrator, Network Engineer, Systems Engineer or similar role.
• In-depth knowledge of Windows server environments, virtualization technologies (VMware), and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
• Strong understanding of networking principles, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN.
• Experience with network and system security, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and endpoint protection.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to meet the requirements of multiple demands.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, MCSE, CCNA) are a plus.

• Knowledge of Linux server environments.

• Data Center operations management experience. Especially Cisco and VMware technologies.

• Cloud infrastructure management. Cloud migration/refactoring.

• Proficiency in scripting and automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python).

The position is located in Overland Park, KS. Nextworld's hybrid model has co-location in-office days on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays
