Job Summary
The Telecommunications Engineer develops and maintains the telecommunications infrastructure and network components. Working under general supervision, this role involves the analyses of the networks and equipment to improve optimization and maximize network performance.
Essential Job Functions

Participates in assessments and troubleshooting aimed at resolving technical issues with respect to voice network and telephony systems in a timely manner, including diagnosing telecommunication network problems such as signal loss due to interference, faulty wiring, or miss configuration.

Reviews designs, estimate costs, performs installation, and documents MACS (moves, adds, & changes) by meeting with stakeholders and analyzing floor plans, programming guides, and/or technical specifications.

Prepares voice network configuration changes of various voice infrastructure equipment & network to enhance performance on telecommunication systems via CLI and GUI interfaces including participation in on-call coverage for off hours.

Collaborates with voice network architects on VoIP network optimization.

Logs and follows up on service provider trouble tickets. Monitors and meets with vendors on contractual obligations and performance delivery.

Train and support end users on VoIP related devices, software, and peripherals.
