Systems Engineer – Backup/Storage
This is an in-office role in our Durham location.

We are seeking a Systems Engineer to join our global Data and Technology team. As a Systems Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge storage technologies and support our cloud-based infrastructure. Your expertise will contribute to the success of our projects and help us drive innovation.
Who we are looking for:
Reliable individuals with proven experience working as a Systems Engineer or in a similar role. Who are passionate and knowledgeable with managing a wide range of storage solutions, including Dell EMC Data Domain, PowerStore, Isilon, Unity, VNX, NetApp Cloud Volumes ONTAP (CVO) in Azure, Brocade SAN switches, and Commvault backup systems. You will become part of a diligent team of engineers that deliver solutions on-premises and in the cloud. That possess excellent problem-solving and analytical skills while demonstrating impeccable communication skills.
What you’ll do:
- Storage Management: Administer, configure, and maintain diverse storage systems, including Data Domain, PowerStore, Isilon, Unity, VNX, and NetApp Cloud Volumes ONTAP in Azure.
- SAN Infrastructure: Manage and troubleshoot Brocade SAN switches, ensuring high availability and optimal performance.
- Cloud Integration: Maintain NetApp Cloud Volumes ONTAP (CVO) in Azure to include creating SVMs and migrating Share data to the cloud.
- Performance Monitoring: Continuously monitor storage and SAN performance, analyzing metrics, and implementing enhancements to meet business requirements.
- Security and Compliance: Enforce data security measures, access controls, and compliance standards for storage systems.
Additional details:
Previous experience in storage architecture including block, file and object storage required. 3-5 years of industry experience administrating storage protocols including, but not limited to, SSD, iSCSi, NFS, SMB and FC. Experience supporting a geographically dispersed storage infrastructure is ideal. BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field and/or equivalent.
