A Lead Systems Engineer defines and develops complex system architectures, requirements, and integration strategies across hardware and software platforms, providing expert-level technical leadership to ensure robust system performance and influence future product frameworks.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Lead system architecture definition, requirements development, and documentation for complex, multi-layered systems (20%).
Develop and maintain system specifications, interface control documents, test plans, test procedures, test reports, and related engineering documents (20%).
Oversee system and subsystem integration and acceptance testing, ensuring hardware and software elements meet functional and performance requirements (20%).
Guide system, hardware, and software design activities by analyzing requirements, resolving design weaknesses, and ensuring cross-platform compatibility (20%).
Perform and coordinate advanced engineering analyses supporting detailed design of components, assemblies, and system-level solutions (20%).
Representative Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline; Master’s preferred.
8–12+ years of progressive systems engineering experience supporting complex hardware/software products.
Expert knowledge of system architecture, requirements development, and integration practices.
Strong proficiency in generating and maintaining engineering documentation, including ICDs, test plans, and requirements specifications.
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional engineering efforts and resolve multi-disciplinary design issues.
Experience conducting detailed system analyses, integration testing, and verification/validation activities.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and technical leadership skills.
