About the Role. G2 Ops supports mission-critical defense and technology initiatives by solving complex operational and engineering challenges. We are seeking a motivated, collaborative Systems Engineer/Model-Based Systems Engineer to support Navy and DoD programs across systems engineering, digital engineering, MBSE, acquisition support, and mission-focused technical analysis.

In this role, you’ll contribute to systems engineering and digital engineering efforts while working alongside a team that values innovation, technical excellence, and continuous growth. You will help translate complex requirements, models, technical risks, and program needs into clear engineering products that support informed decisions for government stakeholders.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and support systems engineering activities across the lifecycle, including requirements development, architecture, design, integration, test, verification, validation, and sustainment.
  • Develop and maintain system and system-of-systems documentation, including specifications, interface control documents, technical reports, configuration baselines, and engineering review materials.
  • Apply model-based systems engineering methods to create, refine, and manage model artifacts, requirements, behaviors, structures, interfaces, allocations, and traceability products.
  • Support digital engineering and MBSE initiatives for Navy and DoD programs, including model development, model-based analysis, and digital-thread support.
  • Partner with data scientists, software engineers, cyber teams, platform integrators, and program managers to align technical solutions with mission needs.

  • Produce clear technical and executive-level briefings for government stakeholders, senior leaders, and cross-functional teams.
  • Apply data-driven decision tools, modeling environments, and analytical frameworks to support engineering assessments and program decisions.
  • Support Navy C4I, platform integration, mission architecture, fleet readiness, interoperability, and certification-related activities as required by the program.

What You’ll Bring

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 7+ years of relevant systems engineering, model-based systems engineering, digital engineering, acquisition engineering, or complex system-of-systems experience.
  • Experience supporting DoD, Navy, NAVWAR, PEO C4I, or other mission-focused government programs.
  • Strong understanding of systems engineering lifecycle processes, including requirements analysis, architecture, integration, verification, validation, risk management, and technical documentation.
  • Experience creating technical documentation, briefings, reports, models, or decision-support products for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively across engineering, cyber, software, integration, platform, program, and customer teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical details into clear recommendations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler, MagicDraw, IBM Rhapsody, or similar modeling environments.
  • Familiarity with SysML, UML, requirements management, architecture frameworks, or digital engineering practices.
  • Experience supporting Navy C4I systems, platform integration, mission architecture, fleet readiness, RMF, cyber, interoperability, or certification activities.
  • Experience working with data scientists, analytics teams, modeling teams, or data-driven decision-support tools.
  • Microsoft Power Platform experience or PL-900 Certification.
  • Knowledge of Navy systems, Navy processes, NAVWAR environments, or classified customer spaces.
