This is a contingent position based upon contract award.
Position OverviewThe Systems Engineer Level IV provides advanced systems engineering leadership across the full lifecycle of space and aerospace systems supporting U.S. Government programs. This role is responsible for requirements development, system architecture, integration, verification, and mission execution, ensuring all subsystems function cohesively to meet mission objectives within cost, schedule, and technical constraints.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead end-to-end systems engineering activities from concept development through mission operations
Develop, decompose, and manage system and subsystem requirements with traceability
Conduct system-level trade studies and architecture development
Integrate multidisciplinary subsystems into cohesive system design
Support design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, FRR)
Lead verification and validation (V&V) planning and execution
Support integration, test, and evaluation (I&T)
Coordinate with program management on cost and schedule alignment
Interface with government customers and subcontractors
Develop and deliver technical briefings and documentation
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred)
8–12+ years of systems engineering experience
Experience across full systems engineering lifecycle
Familiarity with requirements tools (e.g., DOORS, MBSE)
Understanding of aerospace/space system architectures
Experience supporting government programs
Active Secret clearance
Active TS/SCI clearance
Experience with NRL, NAVSEA, DARPA, or similar
MBSE and digital engineering experience
Flight hardware program experience
Leadership experience at task/team level
Active Secret required (TS/SCI preferred or eligible)
Work EnvironmentOn-site/hybrid environment supporting government labs, integration facilities, and offices with occasional travel to test and launch sites.
Basic Compensation:
$135,600 - $186,400
This range is for the Washington DC area only.
The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
Additional Compensation:
KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short-term incentives, long-term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
