Quantum-Si is seeking a highly motivated Systems Engineer to join our Instrument Engineering Team. This individual will be a key contributor to the development of next generation protein sequencing platforms.
As part of our team, your core responsibilities will be:
- Assemble and align instrument systems, from initial prototypes to pre-production instruments
- Design, execute, and analyze experiments and troubleshoot issues on instrument systems
- Draft work instructions to be used for the assembly and alignment of instruments
- Support the transfer to manufacturing of new instruments
- Maintain the fleet of in-house instruments
- Support the training of Field Service Engineers
- Work collaboratively with mechanical, electrical, software, and systems integration engineers to deliver an instrument that meets customer expectations
- Collaborate with external development and manufacturing partners to ensure robust designs and manufacturing processes.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Systems, Biomedical, or Mechanical preferred)
- 2+ years of systems engineering experience
- Experience with complex mechano-optical systems
- Experience with medical devices
- Ability to work on multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills are required, and the ability to interact well in group meetings/working environments
- Self-starter with a relentless work ethic who can work independently, but who also functions well in a collaborative team environment
- Demonstrated team skills: ability to maintain excellent rapport with colleagues in the face of tight development schedules
- Travel: Up to 20%
Ideally, you also have these skills/experiences/attributes (but it’s ok if you don’t!):
- Design for Six Sigma certification or experience
The estimated base salary range for this role based in the United States of America is: $90,000 - $110,000. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, level of the position, an individual’s skills, knowledge and abilities, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all full-time employees are eligible for our discretionary bonus program and equity as part of the compensation package.
