As a member of the R&D Hardware team, this role will report to the Manager, Systems Engineering responsible for development and sustaining of in vitro diagnostic products. If you thrive in a dynamic role and want to join an extraordinary R&D organization—read on.
In this role, you will have these opportunities but not limited to:
- Bring engineering development experience to our system integration and feasibility research team by providing System/Mechanical design, modeling, analysis, and review, defining new product architecture as well as performing feasibility studies and analyze performance, while aligning with regulatory requirements
- Support our ongoing development programs for both new and legacy product portfolios. As a critical team member will work multi-functionally on programs developing new products, and in supporting legacy instrumentation in cost reduction, product design changes due to regulatory and environmental standard revisions, and customer driven product improvements
- Supports and actively participates during project phase reviews, Risk analysis, DFMEA, PFMEA
- Executes studies, performs calculations and engineering analyses (tolerance analysis, stress analysis, flow analysis) and generates drawings and graphical representations necessary to define the new concepts developed. Performs consumables and hardware component assembly activities.
- Performs troubleshooting, diagnoses and resolves problems to component, module level, or system level.
Essential qualifications for this role include:
- BS in Engineering (ME, EE, Biomedical Engineer, Chemical Engineering or related technical subject area) with 2+ years OR a Master’s degree in Engineering
- Work experience in designing and/or supporting medical, IVD, and/or analytical instruments
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Ability to collaborate with internal and external partners in a highly dynamic environment.
It would be a plus if you also possess:
- Experience in software / firmware coding
- Prior experience in system reliability improvement
- Prior R&D and/or engineering experience in flow cytology, microfluidics, urinalysis, hematology, immunoassay, and/or clinical chemistry
