Partner with the best
As a Systems Engineer II, design, build, and maintain a secure, scalable Mac ecosystem for Akamai's global workforce. Deploy and manage a critical service connecting thousands of endpoints. Analyze, research, and resolve complex technical issues focused on MacOS. Create and update technical and procedural documentation. Collaborate with engineers on testing, implementation, problem resolution, and liaise with the Solution Center.
As a Systems Engineer II, you will be responsible for:
- Administering, configuring, and maintaining Akamai's global macOS fleet with Mobile Device Management tools, primarily Workspace One.
- Designing, implementing, and optimizing automated deployment workflows while managing updates for macOS and third-party software to enhance security and reliability.
- Developing, testing, and maintaining robust automation scripts (Bash/Zsh, Python, or Swift) and custom installers to streamline administration, enforce configurations, and automate macOS software deployments.
- Collaborating with the InfoSec team to enforce security standards across macOS devices while preserving an optimal user experience.
- Serving as the Tier 3 escalation point for macOS issues, analyzing root causes, documenting solutions, and occasionally providing after-hours support.
- Monitoring system health, performance metrics, and compliance logs across the enterprise macOS fleet proactively ensures optimal functionality and compliance.

- Have 5 years experience in enterprise systems engineering, with a dedicated focus on macOS administration at scale (10,000+ endpoints).
- Demonstrate expertise in Workspace One or comparable MDM tools and Apple Business functionalities.
- Demonstrate expertise in Zsh/Bash scripting, Python knowledge, and managing installer package creation and ongoing maintenance tasks.
- Demonstrate expertise in macOS architecture, file systems, security frameworks like TCC and MDM profiles, and enterprise management practices.
- Understand enterprise networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs) and Identity Providers (Okta, Azure AD, Ping) integrated with macOS systems.
- Demonstrate professional expertise and comprehension regarding these operating systems.
