Your impact
You should have a passion for excellence. You will enjoy identifying customer needs, then designing technical and operational solutions to meet and exceed those needs. You will apply your technical skills in system level communication engineering to provide pre-sales technical consultancy to existing and prospective customers to add value and drive revenue.
What you will do

  • Identify and solve customer challenges by applying engineering skills and delivering on-point solutions
  • Perform communication system design, integration and testing and custom solutions.
  • Perform feasibility analysis to develop value solutions that intersect customer needs and Intelsat strategies.
  • Identify customer needs and drivers both technically and financially and collaborate with internal teams through customer assessments, proposal development and the delivery of effective communications.
  • Develop and maintain trusting and collaborative technical customer relationships, both internally and externally.
  • Apply Systems Engineering principles for product development as well as fault detection, isolation and recovery.
  • Independently and collaboratively, develop solutions to complex problems when needed.
  • Continuously seek to educate and train others on Intelsat products, tools, and operations.


Your required experience/skills

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical, Computers Science or Aerospace Engineering (an equivalent combination of relevant education, military service and/or experience will be considered)
  • A minimum of 2 years of recent, relevant experience in communication system development, satellite ground segment, and/or system integration, capacity management and/or systems engineering and/or other engineering functions.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, and software such as Windows, SharePoint. Ability to learn new technologies quickly and apply as needed to resolved problems.
  • Knowledge of digital network communications and RF signal theory, digital satellite network architectures, IP networking.
  • Knowledge to develop and integrate into operational systems various satellite communications subsystems, including the RF, baseband, and ground network equipment elements.
  • Knowledge on the specifications and differences between various satellite orbits frequency bands (L, C, Ku-band, etc.) and the qualities of on each signal band in various applications
  • Ability to use diagrams, tables, or figures to improve the presentation of technical material, and the acumen to ensure key technical issues are addressed consistent with customer objectives.
  • Ability to analyze complex situations and utilize problem-solving abilities, under pressure.
  • The ability to obtain US government Tops Secret clearance, which requires US citizenship.

It would be nice if you had:

  • Experience with any of the following:
    • software development using Java, C++, C#, Ruby, Python, etc.
    • cloud services such as AWS cloud services
    • performing data analytics using capabilities for major providers such as IBM or Google.
    • tools such as STK, MATLAB, AutoCAD
    • coordinating with Program Management and third-party/external program vendors and/or contractors to support the development, integration, installation and testing of equipment and service
    • Configuring, operating, and effectively interpreting results from test equipment including Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Generators, Network Analyzers, and LAN and WAN test sets.
    • 5G Optimization covering DSS Optimization; mmWave Optimization; VONR, NSA, SA.
    • Implementing new features and tuning 5G/4G (LTE) radio network parameters.
