Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.
Job Description
NBCUniversal is seeking a talented Systems Engineer (Cloud FinOps) to join our growing team supporting Corporate Technology. The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience in FinOps, especially for AWS cloud services. Corporate Technology build and operate a variety of services from SAP running on AWS to SAP SAAS services, custom applications on cloud and many others.
The role will be split between core Cloud FinOps functions and finance operations support for supplier & vendor management.
The role sits within our Platform Engineering team. The ideal candidate will work across all solutions under our control to drive better cost management, reporting and cloud spend optimization.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent working experience
  • 3+ years of demonstrable experience in cloud finance operations
  • Demonstrated experience working on FinOps for AWS and other hyperscaler platforms
  • Knowledge of SAP design patterns, deployments and operations in AWS cloud
  • AWS FinOps certification or FinOps foundation certification
  • Experience with using and building dashboards using tools such as PowerBI, SAP Analytics Cloud etc.
  • A love of data and ability to use it to drive business outcomes
  • Working knowledge of SAP Financials and how to ask, interpret and use data within it
  • Ability to work independently as well as interactively with other team members is essential
  • Highly organized & detail-oriented
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential
  • Outstanding attention to detail, problem solving, and analytical skills
  • The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines

Desired Characteristics:
  • A background in Finance and FinOps
  • Advanced excel skills
  • Knowledge of processes around supplier & vendor management
  • Experience in 6 sigma Methodologies- Participated in Lean Projects
  • Master's degree in a finance or business discipline

  • Fully Remote: This position has been designated as fully remote, meaning that the position is expected to contribute from a non-NBCUniversal worksite, most commonly an employee's residence.
