Responsibilities:

  • Own day-to-day support and implementation of infrastructure services across AWS, Linux, and Windows environments, with a focus on:
    • EC2 provisioning, IAM policy design, CloudWatch and CloudTrail setup
    • AWS Backup configuration and lifecycle management
    • Route 53 record management and DNS automation
    • WAF (Web Application Firewall) implementation and tuning for public-facing workloads
    • Configuring AD-integrated Linux workloads (e.g., SSSD, Kerberos auth)
    • Microsoft Active Directory and DNS – domain joins, DNS forwarders, zone management
    • Windows system administration – services, RDP, permissions, patching
  • Administer and harden Linux systems:
    • RHEL, Debian, Ubuntu, or Amazon Linux 2
    • Systemd services, log rotation, SSH key handling, OS security hardening
  • Support containerized workloads and Kubernetes environments:
    • Docker image management, Compose, private registries
    • Kubernetes operations via EKS or self-hosted clusters
    • Basic CI/CD pipeline awareness (GitHub Actions or similar)
  • Support hybrid virtualization and storage environments:
    • VMware vSphere (host and storage integration, snapshots, HA/DRS)
    • SAN/NAS and iSCSI, NFS, and S3-integrated storage lifecycles
  • Implement and support RMM and patching workflows:
    • ConnectWise RMM and/or Syxsense
    • Patch orchestration and remote support utilities
  • Work collaboratively with life sciences clients:
    • Understand GxP-aligned environments and CFR Part 11 requirements
    • Comfortable leading small projects or serving as technical SME

Requirements:

  • Minimum Certification: AWS Solutions Architect – Associate
  • Preferred Certification: AWS Solutions Architect – Professional (must commit to obtain within 6 months if not held)
  • Additional Preferred Certification: Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
  • Experience Requirements:
    • 7+ years in AWS/Linux/Windows infrastructure support roles
    • 5+ years in VMware vSphere and hybrid storage environments
    • 2+ years working in a GxP or regulated client environment
    • Familiarity with ITIL-aligned service workflows (incident, change, problem)
  • Tool Experience:
    • AWS Console, CloudWatch, Route 53
    • GitHub for basic automation workflows or scripting version control
    • Ansible or Puppet for configuration management and infrastructure as code
    • ITGlue for documentation
    • ServiceNow for ITSM workflows
    • ConnectWise RMM, LogicMonitor, and Syxsense for infrastructure monitoring/patching
