Job Description

Innovatus Technology Consulting is seeking a Systems Engineer with expertise in Azure, Hyper-V, and enterprise infrastructure. This role is crucial for managing hybrid cloud environments, ensuring high availability, security, and performance across networking and storage solutions. The position requires two days on-site per week in Suffolk, VA, with the rest remote. An active DoD Secret Clearance is required.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure & Hybrid Cloud Architecture

• Design, deploy, and maintain secure enterprise infrastructure across Azure and Hyper-V environments.
• Oversee network connectivity between on-prem and cloud resources, ensuring performance optimization.
• Implement storage solutions (NAS, SAN, cloud storage) tailored for mission-critical workloads.
• Ensure scalability, redundancy, and high availability of systems.

Hyper-V Virtualization

• Manage and optimize Hyper-V virtual environments, ensuring stability and efficiency.
• Deploy and configure virtual networks, virtual switches, and failover clustering for high availability.
• Implement performance tuning strategies for Hyper-V hosts and virtual machines.
• Ensure secure storage and networking integration across Hyper-V deployments.

Azure Cloud Management

• Architect and manage Azure-based infrastructure for cloud-native and hybrid applications.
• Optimize Azure storage, networking, identity management, and security configurations.
• Implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies within Azure.
• Support automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for efficient cloud deployments.

Networking & Security Compliance

• Configure and manage networking solutions, including firewalls, VLANs, VPNs, and load balancing.
• Implement secure network architectures, ensuring DoD security compliance.
• Monitor and troubleshoot network performance in hybrid environments, optimizing latency and security.
• Ensure compliance with STIG requirements, RMF frameworks, and cybersecurity policies.

Windows Server & Enterprise Systems

• Deploy, manage, and maintain Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, DNS, and Group Policy.
• Implement secure access controls, authentication policies, and identity management solutions.
• Perform patch management, system hardening, and compliance audits.
• Lead disaster recovery planning and backup strategies across infrastructure and storage solutions.

Qualifications

Required:

• Active DoD Secret Clearance (mandatory).
• 3+ years of infrastructure, networking, and virtualization experience with Azure and Hyper-V.
• Strong understanding of hybrid cloud architecture, including storage and networking integration.
• Expertise in Windows Server, Active Directory, and identity management.
• Advanced troubleshooting skills in networking, infrastructure, and Hyper-V virtualization.

Preferred:

• Microsoft Azure certifications (e.g., AZ-104, AZ-305).
• Hyper-V experience with clustering, virtual networking, and failover strategies.
• Experience with enterprise storage architectures (NAS, SAN, cloud-based solutions).
• Familiarity with DoD security frameworks (STIGs, RMF, NIST guidelines).
